dissatisfied I was very unsatisfied with the treatment I was provided and with the way I was treated. I NEVER saw an actual doctor, only a PA. I was told that I needed to have corticosteroid injections and that would help my chronic sciatica that I had been dealing with on and off for 10 years. I agreed hoping this would help. bad experience would not reccommend dr duncan I am sad to read and have to agree with the many negative reviews of Carolina Back Institute and Dr Duncan but unfortunately I too had what I consider substandard care and treatment the one time and last time went to this clinic for help with injuries from an accident. Infact what made it worse is I traveled a long distance rented a hotel to come all the way to this clinic for a special treatment called prolotherapy and was so encouraged about getting help thru this treatment. Mr. Doctor Christopher Godbout was exceptional and did a tremendous job in taking care of my medical needs. I understand now that he is leaving the practice and moving out west. Because of that, I plan on leaving and finding another pain management practice to take care of me. The billing department is terrible. I have paid every time I have gone in for an appointment. Find a different practice! I saw Dr. Duncan. She was short and rude to me. She asked about my pain. I told her it was difficult to bend because of the pain. She asked me to bend and touch my toes. I did and she rudely said, "I thought you couldn't bend." Geez, I said it hurt to bend, not that I couldn't do it. She barely examined me and told me to get injections which my insurance didn't cover much of so I couldn't afford at that time. BEWARE... This could happen to you too! I would have written a good review 60 days ago, but things have changed and you may want to understand that what happened to me, could happen to you as well. I was a patient of CBI for 13 years, it took years for them to convince me that pain meds were the only way to maintain any quality of life. CBI rocks I dont write reviews but I have had bad lower back and leg pain since april 11 . After wasting time and money @ triangle ortho and having them tell me nothing is wrong I gave up on them . I called CBI and they got me in and after getting my records the first thing Dr Reznik tells me are two problems that are very evident on mri ! I had my second Injections about 2 weeks ago to no avail but he spends tons of time discussing treatments and different options . DO NOT GO HERE! This place is a JOKE. I was a patient there for over 2 years, went from doctor to doctor and NO ONE could find out how to fix me?! All they did was give me injection after injection for months. Then onto a VERY expensive PROLOTHERAPY (which they like to push on you when there is NO MORE injections they feel they can do). For 3 months I did prolo-which was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I was getting 5 treatments at a time, couldnt walk/ move for DAYS. Just couldn't trust this practice Diagnosis: C7/T1 disc herniation, radiculopathy. Pain in left neck/back, left arm. Doc referred me to CBI for a steroid shot. The good: very nice lobby. The bad: Dr. Duncan did not feel the need to look at my MRI images prior to scheduling an epidural steroid shot. She did a very (very) minimalist strength test, and charged me $253 for it. 10 minutes. The next day, a nearby PT did a much much more intensive interview and strength test, and helped resolve some pain in the very first appointme... read more
tanya I've read some negative reviews. I'm a veteran back pain patient and I can guarantee I'm the only one posting that went so far out of desperation as to pay out of pocket and get surgery in Germany. I now have a new problem though. Being a veteran I would like to tell any patient that this clinic has been nothing but kind (not a rude one in the whole bunch) and professional without being cold.
