What a Nightmare! – Where to start? The atmosphere could not be worse. Incredibly loud and cramped with people singing happy birthday every 4 minutes. The food whilst high in quantity was of the lowest quality. Mostly tasteless red sauce, the pasta was undercooked instead of al dente'. The mussels were overcooked. I could cook anything we had better myself. Plus their special Chianti was as rough as paint-stripper. I have no idea why people wait in line to eat here.
Divaesque – I've been to Bucca many times, but not for the food. The food IS NOT authentic Southern Italian. My fiancee's entire family are full Italian/Americans. Real Italian at least uses garlic. Real Italians tear bread, it's not sliced neatly. You go there for the atmosphere. Great pictures, noisy like a big Italian family dinner, it's fun, but not good.
Expect fun and crazy – I love Bucca! If you go there with the right attitude, time on your hands, lots of friends and a big appetite, you can't go wrong. Where else would I have been serenaded with "Like a Virgin" for my bachelorette party dinner? Just expect fun, crazy and yummy food!
bad service – The first time I visited Buca di Beppo I had a great experience. When time came to plan my cousin's bachlorette party we thought it would be the perfect place. We made reservations over a month in advance and sent out invitations to people coming from all over the state. Needless to say Buca Di Beppo bumped our reservation by two hours a week before the party. They did offer to move us to their other location but it was too late invites had already gone out! They did nothing else to try and accomodate us after ... read more
Oh, c'mon now...it's BEPPO!!! – Sure, Beppo is a chain...Beppo is noisy...Beppo isn't authentic...hello???! What were you expecting?? This is not Seattle's best Italian food, but it is nevertheless a fun dining experience...go into it with the proper mindset. This is a good group restaurant, but keep in mind you won't be seated 'til your entire group is present. I was recently there with a large party and we enjoyed the baked ziti special, our salads, and everything else! My advice--chill out. I mean that literally, too... d... read more
Survey results – Based on the survey results it seems that Buca di beppo, Cucina Cucina and Olive Garden are in the top ten italian restaurants in Seattle. This seems to suggest a) The poll is fixed b) Seattle people have never tasted Italian food The food is large portions of badly prepared psuedo italian food. Avoid at all costs
It never fails! – Just celebrated a birthday here and once again had a great time. We had a large group and had to wait quite a while (even with our reservation), but it was worth it. This is the best place to celebrate and have fun. The crowd is fun, the waitstaff is amazing and the food is great.
Hardly the Best – Where have you people been eating? The frozen food aisle? This is hardly the third best "Italian" food in Seattle. Granted, you get a ton of it, and the atmosphere tends to make you smile, but it's definitely not in the top ten league. C'mon, it's a chain, and providing great food is not their goal. So accept it for what it is, but please please please don't vote for it in the top 10. Hint: try Simpatico in Wallingford.
Get along little dogies... – f you don't mind being waiting like cattle for a Chuck-E-Cheese experience then Beppo's is for you. Regardless of whether you have a reservation or whether the table is ready, parties are not seated but are made to wait in a small foyer until *everyone* arrives. Our group of 3 (no reservations possible for small groups) were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait. After an hour in the holding pen, we then enquired meekly about how much longer it would be and were told (in a snarky tone) that we wer... read more
