Fun and flavorful! – This is a great place. We always have a fabulous time. The food and service are wonderful, you really feel like you are part of the family. They have a great new menu for two so we can go more often.
Hooray for leftovers! – Buca is one of those places where you go to forget you're going somewhere. The atmosphere is relaxed, and unpretentious. Servers are always willing to answer questions and get you just what you want. This is family-style dining, so be ready to pass the plates around and even then take home some doggie bags. Big plates of slop – Yuch. Someone wanted to go there for a party, and as the other reviewer said, given the montrous size of the portions, you can only order a few things. And they were all very mediocre. You just can't control the cooking of a fine veal dish when you're stacking up 20 of the damn things at once. Terrible noise, crowds and service. I guess they're making money, it was packed, but there's no accounting for taste.
Yuck! – THe food is less than mediocre, expensive, the portions are ginormous so if you are less than 4-5 people you can only have one tasteless entree, and worst of all, you have to wait for this honor for nearly 30 minute-45. If someone can reccomend a cute little Italian place in which the mamma is standing over her pot of boiling sauce and the pappa is making the homemade pasta, please let me know.
Great for groups! Ok for smaller parties. Food leaves a lot to be desired. Too big and chunky with little taste.
buca di burpa – larger portions dosen't mean wonderful food. It would be good for hungry college kids. This city needs some Northern Italian food.
Great time when you get in – The food was above normal, NOT the best italian ever, but good chef boy R dee style. Warning only comer here is you are in a big group. They will not seat you if you are a group of two or three... it took us 10 minutes when we had a group of 10 and 1.5 hours when it was my wife and I.... You have been warned, besides if you are a small group go for a better place, with better food, this place is all about entertaining a group.
Buca Di 'Perfecto' – When you've found the Holy Grail, why keep looking? I have not eaten in all, or even most Seattle restaurants, but I keep coming back to Buca. And I don't stop there. I bring friends from out of town, as well. Buca is one more "Seattle Experience." The wait is long, but the food, atmosphere and service leaves nothing to be desired. Mucho Bucko Di Crowdido – Everytime I have been to this restaraunt it has been to crowded, the food to spicey (and to expensive), and the service has been less than stellar. The tables are very close together, which makes for very closterphobic dining. The only good seat in the house is the kitchen, but good luck reserving it. Also, on my last trip they wouldn't sit my party until the entire party arrived. Needlesss to say we were two short out of 10, and they refused to seat us until the last 2 arrived.
