Good Food – The service is always good. I love the Tortellini w/broccoli and peas and they leave out the things I don't want which are the mushrooms and tomatoes. It's a little bland, but I add a lot of grated cheese and then it's great. The marsala is good and the huge meatballs are excellent. The Saltimboca is good, but there are only two pieces so I would not call it an entree big enough to serve 2-3 people as it states for their new smaller entree items that only before served 6-8 people.
So Much Fun – I love this place! I first went there for Valentine's Day with a big group of friends. We didn't have a reservation, but they got us in. They are always very accomodating. I've been there numerous other times, for bachelorette parties and my own bachelorette party. My (then) fiance and I took my parents out to dinner there to celebrate my Dad's promotion and they had a great time. They're the types that like to go to dinner close to home (in Kent) and not venture too far into the city, but they loved it. They'v... read more
It's a chain! – As far as chains go (and I usually hate them), Buca is fine by me. Fine dining - no. I'm Italian and not offended by the food. (This is not the North End or Little Italy, folks!)Their stuffed shells are fantastic and I love their Chicken Cacciatore.
Not for kids – I felt that the decor was highly inappropriate for children, as were the drunken bachelor and bachelorette parties where obviously drunk guests wandered from table to table, offering things like condoms and asking for things for their scavanger hunts. The lines in the ladies room were long and only 2 toilets were working all night. A fun place for adults only if your are too drunk to know where you are.
DON'T GO! – I disliked this place so much that I registered with this web site just so I could put in a review! A few months ago, I came here with a group of about 11 people, we stood waiting for our RESERVED table for about 45 minutes. Recently, I decided to chance it again, this time with only 3 people (there's lots of tables for small parties, right?). WITH a reservation, we waited half an hour to be seated. The hostess is snotty, but I guess with that kind of record, she'd have to be. Food is so-so; Chicken Marsala good.
Best for families & groups – I love Beppo's for it's family style dining. Great for groups and birthday gatherings. The food is quite good and served on large platters that are passed around the table. Definitely NOT for a romantic date or quiet dinner. The place is noisy and lively!
A dining nightmare – We made a reservation for 9 people well in advance, but when we were finally seated after a half-hour wait. The table was just large enough to seat 6 and crammed in a corner. When we told the hostess that we had nine people but only 8 chairs and place settings, not understanding she snapped, "It's family style; it's going to be a little crowded." We actually had people seated on the corners of the table, and had to eat with elbows pinned to our sides. The waiter spilled an entire glass of icewater on my ... read more
Not as serious an indictment as others – I went there for the 1st time recently on my daughter's birthday but always wondered why there were always big crowds waiting to get in. I supposed the reason was average Italian food with generous portions----it did not seem to be adaquately staffed for the number of tables. Generally speaking, it was an interesting dining experience but, as a senior citizen, would not "fight the crowds" and deafening noise again.
Poor Service Aftertaste – Although the food was of decent quality, this Seattle Buca restaurant needs a staffing overhaul. From the get-go our visit found that the staff which interacts most with the customers (pretentious hostess staff, too-busy waiters reciting a hum-drum routine) were outshown by the food servers and friendly bus staff. I had to ask twice for my soda from our waiter; 15 minutes later I asked a very competent busser and she delivered my soda a minute later. Unfortunately, this poor service leaves a more me... read more
