Like a Sunday meal at grandma's. – If you want a quite little romantic dinner for two, go somewhere else. This place is loud and fun for all! Not a place with fancy over priced small portions. Come hungry and go home stuffed! Just like grandma's on a Sunday afternoon!
Go for the atmosphere, not the flavor – A good family spot with exuberant waiters, classic dishes, and a fun italian vibe. The food, however, did not live up to its "legendary" name, and I might consider this a on-time experience.
Nothing special – Sad...I do not recommend. Our "al dente" pasta tasted a bit undercooked and the flavors were bland. I will search for Italian food elsewhere.
Guilty Pleasure – Foodies love to loathe chain restaurants such as this place, but the food is really not that bad and the portions are monstrous. What's not to like? The chicken dishes are particularly well executed featuring pounded, juicy breast meat. Veal dishes are done well here too. Order any large pasta and you could seriously feed a family of 4. One Step Above the Spagetti Outhouse – I can't imagine any Italian going here more than once, except maybe to use the bathroom. The only places worse, are these Spagetti Warehouse (affectionately known among friends as the spagetti outhouse) type places you see all over now. I've eaten there once too. Went here for a big wedding party that someone else was having. Tried several of the dishes, all tasted like they came out of the same bag. Maybe they were microwaved. Yikes!! Be weary!! – Ok, if you like ALOT of food, big crowds, and hearing the birthday song every 15 minutes, this place is for you. It's a place that should be a buffet. The food is not that good. You won't get sick, but you won't leave feeling like you ate a true Italian dinner. Very commercial grade. The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food that you get. When it arrives for two, you think that the waiter put the wrong plates on your table. Go hungry, leave full but with just a smirk (not a smile).
It's a Chain, its like ALL the Buca's everywhere! – I think that Buca is a great place for a bunch of people getting together for a speecial event. Otherwise why go? There is so much good Italian in Seattle, and you might even find something unique. I give it to these guys though. They are consistent, just like all the other chains.
Check this place out! – This place is worth hopping on the ferry, a long car drive ..plane ride..ect...GREAT FOOD! GREAT ATMOSPHERE! Try the green beans.
