When mom was in there 1st part of December they did not have enough staff on. Now they want to cut more? SMH. Definitely need to start looking. Feel bad for the nurses that are already short staffed. They can only do so much.
Taking a friend in for surgery reminded me why I can't stand this place. The nursing staff is terribly rude, the building inside feels dirty and outdated. The public restrooms are poorly kept. Don't poop here because they apparently don't have toilet paper either. Patient discharge after surgery seems like they are rudely shoving you out the door to make room for their next victim. Bronson is better by far.
It sounds as if the surgery department needs some work. They let my Dad stay for 7+ hours without telling him they were not able to perform his cancer surgery- they also didn't let my Mom see him & she didn't realize that no one was telling him during that time that he never had his surgery. He laid there in recovery thinking he was actually recovering from his surgery. If using them for surgery please be aware of some apparent shortcomings at this hospital and adjust accordingly. Just finished my clinical rotation in the labor/delivery/neonatal unit. ALL of the nurses & lactation consultants were phenomenal. Not only did they accept students & teach us much, but they were amazing at their roles in patient care. Doris, RN..Vanessa, RN, BSN..and Megan RN, CNM in particular were an exceptional impact to us Davenport students. Thank you again, L&D nurses of Borgess Mother-Baby unit, 6th floor.
God forbid you really need help gorm this place having breast problems for the secound time and the ladies over in the scheduling department do not know what they are doing my app has been cancled and rescheduled 4 times because they cant do there job i will be going else where this place is a joke and does not care for there patients just there money
I was just in there with my son, he was put in a monitored room because he came in very severely depressed. After initially seeing the doctor, he was them left unattended for almost 4 hrs. Not 1 person came to check on him, I went and got him blankets and a drink because no-one bothered to see if he was doing ok. He came in there for help with mental issues was asking to go into 1 North( he had previously been put there) . he was turned away because they deemed him ok. I never encountered problems until today. I called ( I work at a homeless shelter) a few minutes ago with questions and the operator on the phone was very impatient. She sighed when I gave the name of the person I was calling for and then hung up before I could end the conversation.
