Too small a place for such good food – The parking sucked, the wait sucked also, but the food was awesome. Their naan was fresh and tasty.
What a delight – What a great experience. Knowing this was a small restaurant we made reservations and arrived with the full party on time. We were seated immediately. We met the owner Karim and he gave us big hugs with a warm smile. Service was quick and on point. the Saffron rive was an amazing experience as was the rest of the food. I read some revbiews about rudeness and bad food but I found this to be to the contrary. the Naan was perfect as was the rest of the food, Large prtions, pleniful refills and strong drink serv... read more
Rude: Never been treated this way at a restaurant – I was amazed at how rude the owner of this establishment was. We had reservations for 5 but showed up with one short. We were told that we should "let them know" when our final guest arrived and then were left standing at the door. Our table was grudgingly offered to us when we went up to the bar, even though it was ready and waiting. When our friend still wasn't there after about 10 minutes we asked to order some appetizers but were told that we had to wait until our entir... read more
Food just OK and service horrid – I am going with the other 1-star reviewers. What a bunch of attitude to put up with in order to get just OK food. I ran into the manager's thing about not seating incomplete parties. As though they are sooo cooool they don't need to treat people well. What IS it with wait staff in Portland? Are jobs and customers really that plentiful? Not worth it... go to Swagat.
Don't Bother – Another Portland establishment where staff, and unforgivably the owner, act as though they are doing you a favor by allowing you in their presence. Food is mediocre at best, very expensive and not one middle eastern person eating, which should have tipped us off right away. Save your time and money if you want a pleasant eating experience.
Snooty, rude, overpriced – On a night when there were 4 empty table in the restaurant we asked to be seated while our friends were parking and were told "its our policy not to seat incomplete parties" (even though we had reservations!). Were offered a drink menu and then expected to stand while drinking even though there were at least 15 empty seats. Repeated our request for a seat to the waitress who offered to sell us drinks and were again refused seats by the snotty manager. These people act as though they are doing you a... read more
A neighborhood favorite – BCC is one of our favorite Indian Style restaurants It is consistantly great, and the staff treats us very well. I don't understand some of the negative comments I've read here; yes it is expensive and busy, always packed. Call ahead for a reservation or expect to wait. They serve Indian AND Middle Eastern food - and they put their own twist on both -just deal with it. The naan is fantastic, and the lamb shahi is consistantly good. Try the Mango Margaritas (mexican too?) deal with it...
felt so comfortable – am new to portland, moved here from the southeast US but this resturant made me feel so comfortable. the food was familiar and delicious. the shrimp were large and tender, the naan was the best ever!!! the space is cozy and welcoming. will be back soon.
Just by the looks of the menu, can tell it's not authentic – As a person of Indian descent, I've tried Indian food not only from my native country but also in Australia, England, and 5 states. I've passed by Bombay Cricket Club many times and have never even been tempted to go inside, even on days when my craving for spices reached an exponential height. First of all, I may be overreacting, but I have a major problem with them calling their menu "the exotic and delicious recipes of India AND THE MIDDLE EAST." The Middle East... read more
