top 5 in the city – Looks like pdx peeps are hot and cold on this place, but I love it. Food is decadent, service is professional and the decor is unlike any other place in the city. I can't afford to eat here regularly, but try to rotate it in a couple of times a year. I hear the bar is a scene, but I'm not really into scenes. IMPRESSIVE! – I was given the challenging task of entertaining my firm's clients from the East Coast for dinner. As many of you know, East Coast diners have high expectations of food and service. I dined at Bluehour this weekend for the first time in 2 years. I must say the dinner was even better than I had remembered. We were greeted by a lovely host who sat us on time for our reservation with a friendly smile. Our server was very attentive and helpful with suggestions that improved our dinner. Even though there are many new places to go, Bluehour still delivers interesting, fresh cuisine. New York Never Tasted This Good – I used to live in NYC and I have to say that this place could hold its own if it were in The City. The food is delicious, service impeccable and it reminds me of how I didn't have to leave absolutely everything behind by moving to Portland. Overpriced, loud and mediocre food & service... – I dined at this restaurant for the first (and last time) this weekend with a large group of friends. When I joined my group, I found the host to be prompt and friendly in seating me. For starters, I had a berry cocktail called the Bramble. TERRIBLE FOOD!!!! – I thought that this restaurant was exremely over priced for the quality of food we received. They were out of a number of things on the menu. My husband food was cold, and tasted like it had sat under the heat lamp for a half an hour. My food as well my friend tasted like we could have made it out of a Rice-A-Roni box. I do not recommend this restaurant. I will say that it is a beautiful restaurant, but that not what makes a great restaurant. It's the food!!!!
Happiest Hour – If you are looking for a place to have that perfect after work drink, definately give Blue Hour a try. We walked in to an extremely busy scene, but were immediately greeted by a very handsomely dressed host, who later turned out to be the general manager. FIRST THURSDAY WOW! – What a parade! I have never seen so many people "going for it" in one place. I knew The Pearl District was the place for all the fancy, pretty people, but this has got to be the epic center of it all. It was beyond crowded, but I was told First Thursday is always crowded. The food and drinks were good and surprisingly timely given the number of people they were serving. I recommend trying this place out. Pure fun and people watching!
Love This Place! – Great place for dinner with out of town guests you want to impress. Food was spot on and great wine list. Had a great waiter who made our night. Love waiters who know what they are doing and not intrusive! We'll be back. Although not inexpensive, prices are pretty reasonable for what you are getting.
