Portlanders have long awaited this restaurant since the owner closed Zefiro's. Portland's most elite are again hob-nobbing with each other amidst elegant and trendy surroundings. From the high ceilings to the opulent, mirror-bedecked restrooms, nothing has been overlooked. Wine is available from nearly any region or stick with your usual cocktail from the full bar. Poultry and seafood dominate the expansive menu, but you can also find plenty of pasta and beef. Be sure to leave room for an impressive dessert; like its predece... read more

DATE NIGHT GONE WRONG! – The worst experience my husband and I have ever had! We chose Blue Hour for our special date-night, yet by the time we finished our so-called "meal" we both said the same thing on our way out..."won't be back here again". After a $270.00 bill we were dumbfounded as to what all the hype is about when it comes to this place. The food was bland, boring and sparse at best. Also not much choice for entree selections and forget about asking for wine suggestions, we got the "evil snob-eye" look for asking. ... read more

amazing food – Have never had a bad meal here. When the weather is good enjoy grabbing an outside table and having drinks and appetizers.

Is there a waiter in the house? – Perhaps I just expect too much. This place is great if you don't count the following: service, courtesy, prompt seating, being prejudged by the obviously full of themselves service staff, a or decent wine list. Bluehour fades rather quickly after you get over the "less is more" decor. It won't take long for you to realize that the menu, the wine list and the whole scene is reserved for some sort of "inside group". To be a truly great restaurant, (one that lasts and continues to grow) it is i... read more

Great evening - great service – One Candle - the food was great and the service was exceptional and timely attentive. The noise level and the proximity of the adjacent tables would be only negative. I would return

Superb service and decore, luscious food, fab wine list. – Ooh, baby. We're pretty new to Portland and always on the prowl for good eateries. Judy is an old restauranteur from San Francisco so together we're a tough audience. But Blue Hour "Blue us away!" Sharing a caesar salad ($16 for two) of romaine lettuce leaves that crackled delightfully when we bit in, we were doubly impressed with the perfect caesar dressing--very judiciously sprinkled and tossed with just a hint of authentic Anchovie. We let our waiter recommend a w... read more

Perfect Birthday – I especially enjoyed my birthday dinner at Bluehour. The highlight of the evening was my choice of dessert, artfully presented w/ a candle of course. I appreciated the creativity of the preparation & the complimentary taste of a bite of a crudite from the chef. Everything from the salad to the entree was exquisite. The plates we ordered were a taste sensation--they blended well together beautifully. The beets were delicious! The atmosphere & the music was exactly my taste in a restaurant--the decor was ver... read more

Excellent food – The food was excellent. I order a lot to get a chance to taste a lot but the prices are out of sight for small portions. The comination of 3 caviars was $36 but we laughed hysterically when the pinpoint items came out. They must have been shrunken! Foie gras was superb. Risotto very good too. The monkfish had interesting ingredients and tasted good. True, I ordered a lot, but the bill came to $157 before tip for 2 people with no liquor or wine. The service was adequate, friendly yet somehow neglectful and di... read more

Still going strong!! – Bluehour has established itself as one of Portland's finest restaurants. Wine list is very hip and has selections from many NW wineries large as well as small production. Bravo! Food is always consistent. Very bubbling and active environment, but people mind themselves and are appropriately respectful, in other words, the place tends to have a buzz, but people act like adults and do not yell, as some other places tend to tolerate. Romantic and classy, yet hip! Our Wine group will be returning for the g... read more
