Positive and Negative – Never had a negative experience until today, when I ordered a proscuitto sandwich for lunch that definitly was not proscuitto. It was plain, seemingly overripe ham that made me feel sick and I actually got sick shortly thereafter. The staff is generally excellent, but this time they said that it just looked different, and that maybe the proscuitto was hidden in the sandwich. Ever time aside from this has been excellent, but I may never eat their again, as it's a daily thing for me, it's their $12,000 ... read more

Great Food – This place is awesome. They always have great standbys which include the gnocchi, the bacon wrapped scallops, and a to die for foie gras! The menu is always changing and inventive. This place is both romantic and edgy. I've never had the steak, but it always looks great. The drinks are great and made with fresh juices. They even have some non-alcoholic drinks that are delicious to. This place is great for celebrating a special occassion or just going out with friends. I have yet to eat on the bar side, but it se... read more

Overrated at best – Just because Portland does not have many top restaurants or trendy if you wish, why should we just give in to just an average performance by a restaurant that aspires to be great. If Bluehour wants to be that league, consistant food and service is a good place to start. Something they have yet to do.

Best Bartenders in Portland – These guys mix cocktails better than anyone in town. Fantastic every single time. And the bacon wrapped scallops may be the best dish I've ever eaten. Period. Can't comment on much else, but it's a cool place and those two things keep me coming back.

Where's the James Beard nomination? – Look beyond the music, the crowds, and the laughter. You see a kitchen that puts out some of the best food in the Northwest- the best ingredients presented in simple techniques to bring out their natural flavors. The chefs at Bluehour are clearly passionate about their food. After all, ambience is important but it's always about the food.

I'm in Love – My friends and I like to meet in the cafe and are always impressed. The quality of the food and value is so good. THey serve the best oysters in the city! No one else cooks food as consistent and tasty. WE celebrated a friend's birthday at the chef's table and it was perfect. We must have ordered everything from the menu and all of it was delicious! if you're looking for a great place to eat, any time of the day...this place is it!

A bad scene – A double birthday! Greeted with a succession of wait persons who seemed surprised to see us every time they walked by. My food arrived on time and was OK, but my spouse and co-birthday-celebrants waited an additional 20 minutes, were served what they hadn't ordered and, work of all, it was inedilble. I find myself scratching my head at all the positive reviews. I wouldn't risk it.

I love this restaurant! – Besides the food being absolutely amazing. The service is wonderful. You can tell a lot of thought was put into making people feel comfortable. Most restaurants you go in eat and leave. When my husband and I dine at Bluehour it like time stops.... when you are in there you dont feel like leaving. You really feel as you are on vacation right in your own back yard. We love it there and will go back again and again.
