Portlanders have long awaited this restaurant since the owner closed Zefiro's. Portland's most elite are again hob-nobbing with each other amidst elegant and trendy surroundings. From the high ceilings to the opulent, mirror-bedecked restrooms, nothing has been overlooked. Wine is available from nearly any region or stick with your usual cocktail from the full bar. Poultry and seafood dominate the expansive menu, but you can also find plenty of pasta and beef. Be sure to leave room for an impressive dessert; like its predece... read more

Love the music – BlueHour has an eclectic music music mix which I love- reminds me of London, Berlin and Paris
Don't get it!!! – What is with this place? Service has become lousy, unless you are "in" with someone. Food is good, but after our 3rd visit, it went down hill. My entree was over cooked, vegetables were nearly cold. Drinks were good, but we had to ask for water and coffee several times. The place screams wanna be "L.A", without the service. It was a busy night, but we made reservations a month in advance. I am a 20-something and make 6 figures, and I still don't get it, nor appreciate the blaring noise. Won't be recommendin... read more
SPECTACULAR! – I'm glad Bluehour is in Portland because it raises the bar for all other restaurants. Both the lunch and dinner menus are loaded with my favorite dishes. Best salads, fish entrees and pastas in the city! I highly recommend Bluehour for lunch and dinner.
Service and food does not match price & hype – We expected a lot more. My wife had the "dinner portion" mushroom risotto and the presentation was just awful. My red snapper was a overdone for my taste. The dessert was better than average. The biggest problem we had was with the service. We told the waitress we will be sharing the salad but they did not bother to split to portion for us, the waitress never check on us until well after we were finished with our main course and we had to ask twice to get our coffee refilled. Still my favorite – My friends recently moved here and we have taken them to Bluehour on several occasions. They have gone back on their own for birthdays and anniversaries. The service is great and the food is always memorable. Whether it's caviar or a great burger, this is the only restaurant in town who know how to do both above and beyond anyone else.
Fabulous! – I love taking my out of town clients to Bluehour. They are always very pleased to see that Portland has such world-class food.
Keep your Expectations LOW – Keep your expectations well below standard to avoid let down. Food was good, not exceptional. Service was POOR. We arrived 10 minutes prior to reservation time, expected a wait, but 35 minutes is unexceptable. Only once did the hostess check on us. There was no room in the bar, only enough for 1 and there were 2 of us. This was a special occasion, ruined by rude bar and waitstaff. We were NEVER offered a drink or menu while we waited. We almost walked out, but wanted to see what the hype was abou... read more
Cosmo – Bluehour has the best cosmopolitan in town. I've tried them everywhere, but none compare. As I've only dined formally (not at the bar for the fondue) once, I can't say I know enough about the food, but service was excellent, they provided us an appetizer on the house in the bar as our table was not ready in time. Now that's how to do business! Try the caesar salad for two! It's decadent.
Food is a 10, .....BUT – Been to Bluehour a few times, but recently the service is absymal. Attention is desperately needed to fix the problems. Our water ran dry several times, they forgot to bring the coffee we ordered (twice). To top it off, when our food arrived, we had no silverware. When we asked, they promply brought utencils and were very apologetic. The building is spectacular, but ruined by very loud "techno-like" music. If I was 20-something, I wouldn't be bothered, but the more sophisticated crowd are annoyed. We... read more
