Portlanders have long awaited this restaurant since the owner closed Zefiro's. Portland's most elite are again hob-nobbing with each other amidst elegant and trendy surroundings. From the high ceilings to the opulent, mirror-bedecked restrooms, nothing has been overlooked. Wine is available from nearly any region or stick with your usual cocktail from the full bar. Poultry and seafood dominate the expansive menu, but you can also find plenty of pasta and beef. Be sure to leave room for an impressive dessert; like its predece... read more

Where's the James Beard nomination? – Look beyond the music, the crowds, and the laughter. You see a kitchen that puts out some of the best food in the Northwest- the best ingredients presented in simple techniques to bring out their natural flavors. The chefs at Bluehour are clearly passionate about their food. After all, ambience is important but it's always about the food.
I'm in Love – My friends and I like to meet in the cafe and are always impressed. The quality of the food and value is so good. THey serve the best oysters in the city! No one else cooks food as consistent and tasty. WE celebrated a friend's birthday at the chef's table and it was perfect. We must have ordered everything from the menu and all of it was delicious! if you're looking for a great place to eat, any time of the day...this place is it!
A bad scene – A double birthday! Greeted with a succession of wait persons who seemed surprised to see us every time they walked by. My food arrived on time and was OK, but my spouse and co-birthday-celebrants waited an additional 20 minutes, were served what they hadn't ordered and, work of all, it was inedilble. I find myself scratching my head at all the positive reviews. I wouldn't risk it.
I love this restaurant! – Besides the food being absolutely amazing. The service is wonderful. You can tell a lot of thought was put into making people feel comfortable. Most restaurants you go in eat and leave. When my husband and I dine at Bluehour it like time stops.... when you are in there you dont feel like leaving. You really feel as you are on vacation right in your own back yard. We love it there and will go back again and again.
Love the music – BlueHour has an eclectic music music mix which I love- reminds me of London, Berlin and Paris
Don't get it!!! – What is with this place? Service has become lousy, unless you are "in" with someone. Food is good, but after our 3rd visit, it went down hill. My entree was over cooked, vegetables were nearly cold. Drinks were good, but we had to ask for water and coffee several times. The place screams wanna be "L.A", without the service. It was a busy night, but we made reservations a month in advance. I am a 20-something and make 6 figures, and I still don't get it, nor appreciate the blaring noise. Won't be recommendin... read more
SPECTACULAR! – I'm glad Bluehour is in Portland because it raises the bar for all other restaurants. Both the lunch and dinner menus are loaded with my favorite dishes. Best salads, fish entrees and pastas in the city! I highly recommend Bluehour for lunch and dinner.
Service and food does not match price & hype – We expected a lot more. My wife had the "dinner portion" mushroom risotto and the presentation was just awful. My red snapper was a overdone for my taste. The dessert was better than average. The biggest problem we had was with the service. We told the waitress we will be sharing the salad but they did not bother to split to portion for us, the waitress never check on us until well after we were finished with our main course and we had to ask twice to get our coffee refilled. Still my favorite – My friends recently moved here and we have taken them to Bluehour on several occasions. They have gone back on their own for birthdays and anniversaries. The service is great and the food is always memorable. Whether it's caviar or a great burger, this is the only restaurant in town who know how to do both above and beyond anyone else.
Bluehour has a 4.4 star rating with 667 reviews.
