Portlanders have long awaited this restaurant since the owner closed Zefiro's. Portland's most elite are again hob-nobbing with each other amidst elegant and trendy surroundings. From the high ceilings to the opulent, mirror-bedecked restrooms, nothing has been overlooked. Wine is available from nearly any region or stick with your usual cocktail from the full bar. Poultry and seafood dominate the expansive menu, but you can also find plenty of pasta and beef. Be sure to leave room for an impressive dessert; like its predece... read more

Nov 4, 2006 – I will NEVER go again. My friends and I were out on the town for dinner and drinks and were mistreated by a highly arrogant and condescending floor manager over corked champagne. An intelligent fellow would simply return the wine to the distributor for a credit. This year's holiday office party will not be held at Bluehour and neither will any of our other professional gatherings. Let the owners beware: even one snooty staff member is like cancer to a business.
wonderful food in a beautiful elegant space – I've been enjoying Bluehour for years now and it just keeps getting better, even though I thought it perfect before. Constantly striving for perfection leads to a wonderful innovative menu and seamless service. Whether I'm dining in the elegance of the dining room or sharing a pizza and "best burger ever" with my 9 year old son in the cafe, we always feel well taken care, comfortable and with "happy buds", (taste that is . . .) I love knowing that the the chefs of Bluehour use lo... read more
So-so food in a beautiful space – I visited Bluehour for the first time. My friend and I went for happy hour and sat in the bar. First impression was that the space itself was very well done: trendy was the first word that sprang to mind. However, the bar stools and the tiny bar tables were not very comfortable. Our table was positioned directly over a vent blowing cold air! The service was a bit slow. The speciality drink we ordered--Spice Sidecars--was one of the best bar creations I have ever had. We ordered five happy ho... read more
Great food – We had brunch there last weekend-took parents from out of town. I had always wanted to try it and am glad I did! The place was packed but we got a table right away and the service was very attentive. I got the steak and eggs and a bloody mary. The saucebox bloody mary was awesome! Just the right spice. My mom had oatmeal -incredible. i have seriously been thinking about it all week. It was sweet and buttery goodness. The banana pancakes (I think they were a special?) were equally unforgetable. If you are looking... read more
Tough call, trendy, food is average – Definitely place to be seen. Its more about the scene, then food. From a guys aspect, if you want to impress, this is the place to impress. Scene, drinks, atmosphere. Now for food, its so so. Presentation was excellent Had Fois Gras to start. Good. Not many places serve this. Venison and Veal Chop. Venison is very lean anyways, but nothing special. You would have expected a little more. The Veal chop did not impress. There was no taste as hards as that is to say. Desert was average. Disappointing – My husband and I had not been out in 4 months and were looking for a romantic place to have a nice dinner. Blue Hour was highly recommended to us by friends. Unfortunately for $157 for 2 of us, our overall experience was average at best. The atmosphere was great and the very best Cosmopolitan I have ever had. So we were off to a great start until the food came. The salad was ok, my tuna was ok. My husband liked his steak, but had better. The waitress recommended the chocalte ganache cake for dessert. It was t... read more
Happy Hour, I'll Be Back – So there's this chick, right. We're in love, and we haven't seen each other in years. We go to a great concert, Toronto's Deadly Snakes at the Towne Lounge. We end up, ahem, going back to my place. In the morning, we go to Bluehour. 4:30 in the afternoon. We order everything on the menu. Superb. Romantic. Dramatic. Things arrived one after another. First, fondue. Then sliced Italian meats with fresh (still wet) mozzarella, and totally out-of-control, freakishly good bruschetta. Then an amazing Caes... read more
Perfect Sunday – They even provide the Sunday New York Times. and even though I stick with the classics, like the Benedict, the pancakes and the pastries I've tried are great. I'll be back to try lunch and dinner. Nice servers too.
You've Got to be Kidding! $62 for 1 person? – Ok - how incredibly disappointing. Went to Bluehour with friends, went for the food not the scene and let me tell you the scene is the only reason to go. I had an average martini, a small green salad, a scallop APPETIZER, another martini and an after dinner drink for $62!!!!! I left hungery, went home and made popcorn. The scene is trendy, snotty, filled with tight jeans, Coach handbags and offers little else. For $62 I expected to be dazzled as did my friends - none of us were. ... read more
