Portlanders have long awaited this restaurant since the owner closed Zefiro's. Portland's most elite are again hob-nobbing with each other amidst elegant and trendy surroundings. From the high ceilings to the opulent, mirror-bedecked restrooms, nothing has been overlooked. Wine is available from nearly any region or stick with your usual cocktail from the full bar. Poultry and seafood dominate the expansive menu, but you can also find plenty of pasta and beef. Be sure to leave room for an impressive dessert; like its predece... read more

Excellent food – The food was excellent. I order a lot to get a chance to taste a lot but the prices are out of sight for small portions. The comination of 3 caviars was $36 but we laughed hysterically when the pinpoint items came out. They must have been shrunken! Foie gras was superb. Risotto very good too. The monkfish had interesting ingredients and tasted good. True, I ordered a lot, but the bill came to $157 before tip for 2 people with no liquor or wine. The service was adequate, friendly yet somehow neglectful and di... read more
Still going strong!! – Bluehour has established itself as one of Portland's finest restaurants. Wine list is very hip and has selections from many NW wineries large as well as small production. Bravo! Food is always consistent. Very bubbling and active environment, but people mind themselves and are appropriately respectful, in other words, the place tends to have a buzz, but people act like adults and do not yell, as some other places tend to tolerate. Romantic and classy, yet hip! Our Wine group will be returning for the g... read more
beautiful restaurant - consistent service and food! – it's neither trendy nor tired! it's a good restaurant with great food! Atmosphere is wonderfula nd cheeses are to die for!!
QUITE EXCELLENT – Was there on Sunday, May 28th. Food was QUITE good, they do an excellent job. Serivce is FABULOUS, very well done. Surprising to us, wine bottles are 1/2 price on Sunday (although I think that 'special' was ending at the end of May). Took that opportunity to get a 1/2 priced TURLEY wine and boy, that was tastey. Not many restaurants get TURLEY wine, so you know you're in good shape when you run into one. Aside from that, though, the food was VERY good (although pricey) and the WAITER was fabulous, very good... read more
Good for Grad – I took my granddaughter for dinner after her graduation and she loved it. Even though she is not used to fine dining, she was very comfortable. The menu has a good variety of entrees. Every time I have been there the service has been very good. The bar menu is a good option for a snack as well, when you just want an after work experience and some relaxation.
What's with all of the HYPE!! – My wife and I went to this highly recommended night spot for wonderful culinary experience. The evening's courses started with the fois gras, which was excellent! The next course was a risotto the kitchen cooked too long and forgot to season with salt. After that we had the misfortune to order the gnocchi which came out on a white plate with a white glutinous/sticky sauce (again..little or no seasoning). Lastly, we tried the duck confit...it was dry and flavorless because they cooked the "H" o... read more
Best restaurant in town! – We visit Bluehour at least once a week, and no matter when we go it's always fabulous. Tonight we brought friends from out of town in to have drinks and snacks in the "cafe" and they were more than impressed. Our server was fun and the food and drinks were delicious. If you go, try the cocktail called Diva and bacon-wrapped scallops. Thanks again Bluehour for another fantastic meal! We'll be back soon!
Train your servers then I will come back! – We got the worst server! She never sold or recommended a single drink or food item! Even the famous hot cocoa was served cold (menu price is $3.50 but they charge $4.00?). Until our food was served (20 minutes later) she NEVER returned to our table! Not to offer bread or re-fill our water? She was too busy laughing with the hostess. The food was good and I tipped her 20% so the hostess and busser that worked real hard can make money! As for her, I received better service at the dri... read more
Another Sublime Experience – I have had breakfast, lunch, cocktails, and dinner at Blue Hour on trips to Portland and the last one was perhaps the best. The calamari appetizer with green lentils was a delightful combination. The lamb was an outstanding entree, the red beet and orange salad imaginative and delicious. There seems to be a desert for every palate, heavy or light. I noticed a new feature: cheese plates. I didnt try one but applaud the effort to offer something different for those who want to feast on wine and che... read more
