I closed this account several months ago over the phone and then made sure the auto renew was again turned off, as it kept magically getting reactivated by the company. bitdefender just charged $89.95 to my Paypal account. Save yourself a real headache and avoid this company!

So, start off by saying that I used their security product for about two years with no complaint. 2nd year renewal I opted to renew early and got about $30 discount. This year, last week, got a notice FROM A THIRD PARTY PAYMENT PROCESSOR that an automatic payment would be processed in five days. I never signed up for auto renew. "Customer Service" is NON-EXISTENT. After installing Bitdefender on my 64bit Windows 8.1 laptop, my 32bit Internet Explorer 11 keeps freezing up! Sometimes after 1 minute, 3 minutes, etc...totally random. I now have to use Firefox Quantum and I hate their version of SmoothScroll and when you turn it off, scrolling REALLY sucks (even after toying with Firefox scroll settings). I want to use my IE. This software is terrible. Do not do business with bitdefender. On top of the lousy software it makes it nearly impossible to remove from your computer. It constantly states you need administrative permissions and passwords that it never asked you to set up.
My son purchased this software with my card a year ago, and immediately uninstalled it. I logged in and verified that the auto renewal was not enabled. Today I got a charge for $89.99, which is more than twice the cost of the original software. Customer support says that a 'colleague' will call me back within 24-48 hours. Based on reviews I am going to have to initiate a chargeback/dispute with my bank.

I purchased their product because of the good reviews on PC mag. It would not load because there was a remnant of ByteFence that would not remove and their software would not load with it there. My computer was working fine, the only issue was their software! They entered my computer through TeamViewer twice. BitDefender is a terrible company, just terrible. I bought their internet security software last year based on positive reviews, but it slowed my computer down to a crawl. I submitted an online request for refund, but their online system was terrible, but received dozens of non-responsive automated email replies. Finally, after about a month, I was able to get a reply in which BitDefender promised to refund my money within 5-7 business days. That was on Dec. 1, 2016. I had a $117 charge on my account supposedly for auto renewal of my business antivirus when I never even heard of BitDefender until I saw a charge in my bank. I called their support and the guy even said the product key that they renew is for a mobile security not a business one but they are charging as a business antivirus.I went to my bank and its under investigation how this company got my banking info
