Their auto-renewal is incredibly shady and opaque. I don't even remember enrolling in this and doubt I signed up for auto-renew at time of purchase. My app on my laptop made no mention of it when I purposefully checked my account for auto-renewal a couple weeks ago. Come to find out today I was charged. I do not recommend. I had to call support and of course they have to 'send it to their higher up support team' to get back to me in a couple days. The customer contacted our Support Teams on the same date the review was posted, requesting a full refund of their automatic renewal charge. The customer did not reach a dedicated billing support line, but our general support line and the agent did not have the clearance nor sufficient visibility to issue the refund on the spot. bitdefender sales rep did not set up my account as i requested last year. i requested to not be under "auto renewal" . oct 26, 2021 i was notified that bitdefender charged me 3 times the amount that i paid in 2020 for a 1 year renewal. i sent a email demanding a refund to my credit card. today oct 28, my refund t my c.c. still was not posted. i called customer service, what a joke, rep told me it would show up 7 to 10 business days. this practice is not acceptable. i'll be looking into a different product to purchase.

This company is a total ****! Be warned they will take your money and give you issues withe their product licenses. Just look at all the complaints about them.

I purchased a Bitdefender subscription about a year ago. July 15th 2021, I received an email from Bitdefender that my antivirus software subscription was about to expire and an offer to renew it for another year for $96.06. I renewed and paid with my Paypal account. July 19th, 2021, there is another charge for Bitdefender for $160.11. on my Paypal account. When I had originally gotten this service in June of last year, my laptop's hard drive had died shortly after most likely a coincidence. The reason I say this is because I had not gotten a replacement until April of this year, so I had genuinely forgotten about the service in the first place. However, what had jogged my memory was being recently charged $65 on my card with only a couple of emails flagged as spam warning me about the upcoming charge on auto-renewal. Bitdefender charged my credit card $97.19 without my consent. It will take 7-10 business days to refund money that was not authorized. I never authorized automatic renewals.

I was unable to get BitDefender to install properly even after following troubleshooting steps on their site and spending more than an hour on the phone with their own tech support, during which time, I even gave the tech the ability to share my screen and permission to control my computer. I requested a refund since I was unable to use the product. A year later, my cancelled subscription has been auto-renewed. Allowed a virus that disabled their software, and then denied it was possible. Software quit running and tech support did not offer to help solve the problem. Filed BBB complaint and they just put the blame on me. Long time client, first time I needed help and there was no help to be found.

Not worth it all all. Terrible customer service. They charge a ridiculously high price with automatic renewal and when you try to get your money back, they tell you it will take 4 months. At the end of the 4 months, you still have to go back and forth with them to fight for your money back. It was a HORRIBLE experience. Stay away from them!
