My boyfriend and I recently adopted a cat from the ARL, a few days after she started sneezing, stopped eating, and had discharge coming from her eyes, and she was slobbering. We took her to Berks Emergency Vet because our regular vet couldn’t fit her in for 3 more days. Their staff was very nice when we got there, but that quickly changed. They told us she had a respiratory infection and should be hospitalized over night, they then gave us a quote for over $1,000. We couldn’t afford that so we opted to take her home with med... read more
Took my dog in for exposure to chemicals from a flea treatment. I had the poison control case number, gave the doctor, DR. LEE, a list of the chemicals my dog was exposed to (as in she and I both stepped in it the puddle.) DR. LEE did not consult at all with poison control and in fact was extremely DISMISSIVE and ARROGANT, about my concerns of the chemical reactions AFTER WAITING 2 HOURS to be seen.
very nice and friendly. thank you for your help and kindness.
I would like to thank all of the staff, from beginning at the front desk, staff and doctors for being so compassionate during the loss of our Saja!!! You all are absolutely amazing and just saying thank you doesn't seem enough!
I Arrived at this center with my kitten who had a previous wound that was treated at my regular vet. Dr. Doyle spoke to me in the most demeaning way I have ever been spoken to. Instead of explaining what was wrong with my Kitten, she blurts out that my cat is going to die if I don’t get surgery right in front of my 8 year old child. This kitten is following a terrible loss of a pet that I just spent a fortune trying to save. She had the nerve to act like I shouldn’t have a pet if I do not choose to spend $5,000 on an emergen... read more
Thank you for taking care of my Hazel. She’s currently at her primary vet still being treated but Berks Animal Emergency Center took excellent care of her last night. I’m extremely grateful that she was seen quickly even though they were busy. They let me stay with her for a while and didn’t push me to leave her. She is still on the mend but is much better thanks to you all! Her vet techs were knowledgeable and friendly. And the dr was very nice and empathetic. Thank you again.
Their female vet is very condescending. I have worked with kittens since I was a child helping my mother to save lives. I've been fostering and had plenty vet supervision in so doing in my adulthood. I brought in a kitten with upper respiratory distress and am told I am not a professional and have no business caring for kittens. it was not even my kitten. I was bringing it in for my mother in law and it was a feral! Nothing I personally did caused his illness. He was 8 weeks old and she told me there was no way to know his a... read more
We were here few days ago...the front desk personnel , the clinical staff and the Vet were great. This was an unplanned visit..with the care our Cletus received, I will have no qualms returning should the need arise. Thanks to the staff for the great service we all received!
I would say from experience only go if you have no other options and you really need it. It is super expensive. The vet was very nice as well as the nurses.
