I have had two failed attempts in the last six months to install a trailer hitch on my vehicles. My January appointment was during a snowstorm so I called to see if I could get my appointment moved up to avoid the road conditions predicted for later in the morning. They said they were booked up and I would have to keep my scheduled time. The Uhaul store I contacted assured me I would have a vehicle reserved. I didn't receive a confirmation number or reservation number, which I should have. The day of, I wait at the store for 1 hour to learn that they don't have a vehicle for me in the entire city. I did not receive any communication telling me this. This is not the type of experience you want to have the day you move houses. I called customer service, after being on hold for 20 minutes, and they were not help at all. I rented a uhaul to move from Philadelphia to FL. I also paid for their 3rd party companies to move me on both ends. In Philadelphia when I rented the truck I also needed 48 furniture blankets.... The woman could only find 41 blankets unfortunately after looking for over an hour. I took the 41 blankets and got on my way. Apparently she never made note I was missing 7 blankets because when I dropped off the truck in fL when I was done they charged me $8 a blanket for the 7 I didn't even get. Shady dealership. Their trailer that was put in by their employee jumped off the ball and did $1500 worth of damage to my truck. I contacted Uhaul, and they referred me to their insurance company, who refused to pay for the damage. I would use a different rental company. One with integrity.

If you're planning to use UHaul Uboxes to move into the city, DON'T. It's an absolute headache. There's a bunch of stuff that customer service doesn't know and doesn't tell you about the permits that you need to use this service. Beyond that, their delivery system doesn't actually allow for you to book movers in advance since they can't guarantee an arrival time until one day before delivery. Far from convenient. I was passing through on a family vacation and needed to pull a trailer back to my residence in Texas. I scheduled my appointment at least a week in advance. When originally talking to this Uhaul location, they stated I would have to pay for 1-3 day shipping because they didn't have the parts in stock. So I agreed and continued my vacation. I had a one way rental from Philadelphia to Middletown Delaware. I was told I would call for a drop off location. When I called I was told I would take the truck to Wilmington Delaware and I could set up storage at this place. I picked the truck up at 2 and arrived in Middletown 5-6. I was told the drop off location was closed and I was scheduled to drop off Sunday. I arrived in Wilmington at 10-11 am. I was processed for a storage unit. This company over charged me $155.84 for U-Haul rental that should have been $45.20.Very poor customer service. would not listen. insisted they were right. promised to call me but haven't heard from them.
