I am a very disappointed customer and this was the first and last time I will deal again with this company called U-Haul. I never have a problem with either Discount or Budget. Those two companies are the BEST. This is my history: I called U-Haul Weston Rd. phone number 416-746-0020 this morning Sunday March 11, 2018 at 09:15 AM Eastern Time to rent a 9' Cargo van. When I Originally started my order online, I needed an In-town in Chelsea. So I created my order for the 15' truck which it said I would pay $119 + $56 (Safe Move) + $17 (Mileage) = $192. Then they called me and said my location was closed and I need to pick up and the Vestavia Hill location which is much further away and I would not be changed anything more than what I originally agreed to. I have used U-Haul vehicles several times in my life, and have always had very good experiences. My most recent rental was no exception. I unexpectedly had two days off, so I decided to move earlier than planned, and reserved a vehicle on short notice. I was allowed to pick up my truck a bit early, and was upgraded to a larger vehicle (which I did not need, but which was not a problem) at no charge. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. Without fail, each time I have tried to use a U-Haul service, my reservation has been mucked up. I always reserve in advance and show up on time to pick up my reservation. Alas, this doesn't seem to matter, as my truck is never there, and I ALWAYS have to pay the difference. They list on their website that reservation times are "preferred only" as well as truck type and location. How does this make sense? how is this fair? how does this equal an A+ business? Truly dismal customer experience with no attempt made to resolve problems. U-Haul knows you're stuck with their service and are fully aware you will pay anything they force you into... I reserved a 10ft box truck far in advance. Upon arrival, I was told they had none available and I would have to use a larger truck. This wouldn't have been a huge issue if it was the same price, but there is a significant difference in cost. Not to mention the inconvenience of driving a much larger vehicle than needed. I bought a car and rented a flat bed hauler from U-haul. I spoke to customer service over the phone to make the rental agreement and gave a detailed description of the car i was going to be towing. All service agents i spoke to believed the car would be compatible. This was absolutely false. When loading the brand new car from the dealership onto the bed, it would not clear the trim of the U-haul Trailer. My only option, according to customer support, was to add plywood underneath the tires or try the car dolly. The approach... read more

I have had three telephone conversations along with two on-line chats. Each time I have been promised return calls, and to this date, I have received nothing. My issue has been going on since October and no resolve. I was given email addresses that bounced back and cannot get a straight answer

As any contract if you miss a payment they send you a letter or email prior to breaking any lock. I've paid my rent yet they still broke my lock after they stated I was late. In the contract it states after 30 days they have the authority to do so but I wasn't late on my payments. How can I properly complain when even the manager and higher up can't even help. Do I have to sue both manager Michael Araujo and president Anthony Paladino ??
