I've always had great service at Bay Pines and nurses are the best in the country.
In 2013 I was summoned for consultation for immediate radical cervical surgery by BPHCS. I was advised the only thing holding my neck up was my neck muscles and was in immediate danger of becoming paralyzed if I didn't have this surgery by a fee basis outside VA affiliated surgeon. I requested a second opinion and seven months later was sent to the Miami VA for it, where the doctor/s saw no need for any cervical surgery whatsoever. I have called 4 times today to try to cancel an appointment and I can't get a real person on the line!!! Each time I was on hold for more than 15 minutes listening to your stupid recordings that say how much you want to help all of us veterans. That's BS! I get a card from you in the mail that says if I can't make the appointment to call 239-652-1800. So I did and I've wasted over an hour of my time. Fix your phone system Bay Pines! I enrolled in the VA medical system in 1968. The medical services has been splendid. I have had no problems or grips since enrollment.
I've been going to VA for medical care since 1975 including 20 years at Bay Pines VAMC and overall have been very happy with the care received!
It's amazing that many VA hospitals are getting some unneeded negative attention. I'm glad the Bay Pines VA down here in Fl is top notch. I may need to wait a month or so for certain appointments, but everything else is quick and their ER and staff is awesome.
Ugh. Way too hot in the hospital.
Outstanding, world class health care! Doctors and staff are outstanding! 5 star rating!
Been going there for years and never a problem and very rarely a wait.......
