Moved to North Port from Portland Or. What an awesome facility.
Admitted for a few days via ER for possible cardiac event. As far as I could determine, I received nothing but the best care available. Everyone (clerks, nurses, volunteers, doctors, techs, housekeepers, floor care team etc.) that I came in contact with was very professional, knowledgeable, caring and genuinely concerned about my healthcare. Experiencing care and concern like this makes me proud to be an American Veteran and part of the Bay Pines VA Healthcare System 'family'.
I just spent 37 minutes on hold to make an appointment. I was frustrated waiting that long but did not want to hang up to start all over. I figure it could be worse what if there wasn't a VA hospital for me to go to? I look at my cup as full. I do get care. The VA has been good to me. I would not have care without them.
Gotta love all this great publicity! This place will cancel an appointment if you are caught in traffic and are 10 minutes late, mark you a no show after driving 1 1/2 Hr's to get there! Then cancel your next appointment for being a no show to the previous appt, again AFTER driving 1 1/2 Hr's to get there! Wasted a tank of gas, 2 whole days. Still have to have the test before I can go back to my specialist! That will require me paying the toll on the freeway a total of 6 times, 2 tanks of gas and 3 whole days for a 20 minute... read more
The VA, in Bay Pines, and Cape Coral, Fl., have been wonderful to me. The employees, at both locations, have been very kind, caring, professional, and accommodating, to me. Urology desk staff by far the worst at Bay Pines - total incompetence by most (plus a don't give a damn attitude). However, the caregivers are OUTSTANDING.
Bad medical staff that won't help you even when you are seriously ill!
Genuine care, openly friendly, very understanding, No complaints
Since returning from Viet Nam, wounded and a bad case of malaria and no support from home, my life was a mess and I got absolutely no support from the VA. Fast forward and I can tell you since 2003 when I was in the VA Audie Murphy hospital, the VA has been a God sent. I moved to Seminole Florida last year because of what I had heard about Bay Pines, and I have not been disappointed.
