My review is specific to the BalanceAssist Loan that Bank of America recently rolled out. I believe that artificial intelligence and technology are indeed helpful in today's society; however, it is not and will not ever be a complete replacement for the human experience. Getting calls about forclosure on my home after making a $17,000 payment just to have them state no payment was made, once they realized I had a receipt the tone quickly changed as the money was all the sudden found and credited to the account to bring it current, just wondering why it took a week then have them call me just to have me wave the receipt in their faces to prove it, these people are incompetent from the ground up and don't need to be in this business as it seems they are horribly overwhelmed and outmatched, I c... read more

I have been a customer with ********************** for a few years now. I moved in 2020 where they do not have a banking center so I have to travel for 37 miles to get to the closest one. Recently I had an overdraft fee of $35 because my account had $5.40 and I only had .35 cents in my account because I forgot that a draft of $5.40 was coming out on 4/28. ******* provided poor customer service. I reported fraud on my account Thursday, and the scammer hacked my account this morning. ******* asked me, did I owe the company. She did not resolve my issue at all. I drove to another Bank of America near Willowbrook, and received the best customer service.Poor customer service.I have been with ********************** since ****** will be leaving. Deposited a check to pay for *** dues from my employer. BofA got the money the same day, and I called in make sure no issues will be there. The first rep said the funds will be credited before anything gets debited that same day, but then they decided to hold the funds for 2 weeks without notifying a preferred customer. I noticed an anomaly on my credit card statement, $3500 had been paid toward my balance even though I had just paid it off a few days prior. I called the bank to see if there was some kind of fraud, and it turned out Bank of America had withdrawn that money from my personal bank account without my permission. Their "fix" for this was to have me file a claim, which took 3 weeks to resolve. My Debit Card was canceled for identification of a fraudulent charge. I was told that I could continue to make purchases until my physical replacement card arrived by using a Digital Card in my Virtual Wallet on the Bank of America App. This was not true. I was told by the Bank of America that I could also make payments from my checking account by providing the merchant with my checking account number and routing number. This was also untrue.
