If I could I would leave 0 stars due to the inconvenience that Merrill Lynch 401k customer service caused me during these trying times. I called to have funds transferred from my 401k. Simple everyday request completed by CSRs. Not only did I have to call 3 times to have my simple request completed I had to process the transfer myself online after waiting the 5 business days. They've been holding my money hostage for the last month and like to disable my account at random. BoA is the worst company I've ever dealt with.
I had the BofA Alaska credit card, and I just canceled my account after they did nothing to try to keep me. BofA wanted to keep charging the $75 dollar annual fee even though there was no feasible way to use the companion fare benefit due to the pandemic. (The companion fare is the only real benefit to this card). I contacted Alaska about this, but they said the fee had nothing to do with them and it was entirely a BofA issue. They closed my account and with no warning or reason and have not released my OWN MONEY TO ME. I have called waited weeks and nothing. Im not getting any help with customer service. They kept my money wow thiefs
I have a college student account with them and its been great. No account charges or maintenance charges for a few years. Excellent help with the bank tellers and bank managers. Their customer service on the phone is so supportive. I was able to get all my claims fixed. Downside is that the Bank of America branch nearby usually has no money in their ATM. Always had to get my cash from cashback or drive to next closest Bank of America atm. This was common even before the pandemic.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!!! This isn't a hate post this is a warning post! Their customer service is non existent. I have been hung up on, left on hold for hours, and told there's nothing they can do I'll just have to wait while my business payment devices were down. I've had their own agents ask me what an EMV reader was, what an encryption key was, and one even tell my account was cancelled!! Please do not waste your time or money!!
Someone ought to shut this bank down full of thieves for their repeated and shady practices. I placed a stop payment request on Saturday the 16th of this month since the receiver of the check said they haven't received it even though it was sent to them more than 2 weeks ago. I assumed the check was lost, placed a stop payment request before mailing a new check. I had disputed a charge back in October from a local bar and even had the owner apologize for the charge. Now 3 months later this disgusting bank takes the funds back leaving me with nothing stating that I authorized the charge. I am recovering alcoholic, why would I ever spend that kind of money that was charged and for the agent to almost laugh at me being in a bar a recovering was insulting.
