I've been with BOA since college which means over 35 years. There is absolutely no value placed by this bank on customer service. Every attempt to contact a human being for a unique banking issue designed to get you to automated sources that don't answer your questions. If I call about my credit card, they make me verify my identity through their app. If you are lucky enough to get verified, you get pulled into a long diatribe of basic account information. Worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Their representatives will lie and say contradicting updates and are not held accountable.
Opened an account for me and my husband. Setup direct deposit if our paychecks, no overdrafts, no lost/stolen card claims, no unauthorized transaction claims. Was fine for about 90 days until a transaction was posted to my account for -$88,888,888.88. W T F. I called BoA multiple times, no one had a a clue until I spoke to the Fraud/Risk/Closed accounts department. Bank of America keeps adding escrow to my mortgage account incorrectly. They have changed my payment amount, reported credit report late and even paid my county taxes. I have never had escrow on my account. I proved my payments made, taxes paid and home insurance paid. They have still not updated credit report, now reported January late. Can't communicate other than phone or appointment to deal with problems. They have a payment they accepted after I payed off my loan. They said they'd return the money with the returned escrow. I received the escrow. They did not return my payment that they never should have taken. They allow two weeks to make an appointment on their website. Bank of America is the worst bank to bank with. I have been with for 12 years and they treat their customers like **** and mind you I am a veteran. Everytime I have a problem with my bank they don't try to find a resolution they try to find a way for it to be your fault and get you angry enough to say mean things so they can hang up on you. I am currently moving banks and I would not recommend BOA to no one. Go to ****** ***** or ***** ***** !
They do not honor their bonus deals. It was supposed to be 100k balance for 3mos and you'd receive a $300 bonus. Did not get bonused. When I called about it they said it didn't exist. I know it did.
Don't let Bank of America rip you off (I wish to mark some negative stars had there been ones) You probably remember the old days when your wife lent a pretty penny to a neighbor, who then handed out in return a slip of paper noting the amount, only without surfacing what for. For the time being, that wouldn't pose no problem to your wife. Why? That neighbor seemed somebody worth trust, owning a big house and a few fancy cars in and out of his driveway every now and then. I'd leave 0 stars for this business if I could. I opened an Advantage Plus Checking Account on January 1st 2021 with the bonus offer to get $100 with 2 direct deposits of $250 or more within the first 90 days. Passed the 5 identity questions that were presented to me to prevent fraud. Application was approved and my account was opened. My first direct deposit came on January 6th.
