As a long time customer, I was very disheartened when I called today to make final arrangements for my 14 year old Pomeranian furbaby. She is declining fast, quality of life is lessening and she has let me know she is tired. I called Banfield to make this final decision. I was told I have a 2-3 week wait. When I said I was shocked, I was informed that they are not an emergency hospital. I know that, but to make my sweetheart "survive" 2-3 weeks? Noway. Another vet offered me an appointment tomorrow. Not even her own vet........ read more

My dog was exposed to an intestinal parasite which caused bloating in his abdomen. He was bloated but every other vital sign was normal. He was eating, drinking, going to the bathroom, and playing with my other dog. .I called the hospital to have him seen, and they told me they could not see him for a few days and then I should take him to an emergency room. I found multiple emergency rooms for pricing on what banfield told me we need to be a check up and x-rays. The minimum that I was going to spend was no less than $500. I... read more

My cat went in for a routine eye exam like she has in the past. It was a drop off only option which I was anxious about but wanted to make sure she was looked at. When she was picked up over 8 hours later she couldn't stand, was cold and having difficulties breathing. We questioned Banfield about this and they shrugged it off stating it was probably her anxiety medication wearing off. By the time we got home she was even worse. We called Banfield and they said just to give her a few hours and she would get better. I decided ... read more

I advise caution when considering Banfield's Optimum Wellness Plan. This plan runs for 12 months and is non-cancelable. We adopted a dog from the animal shelter in February and signed up for Banfield's plan. We were unable to overcome behavioral problems undisclosed at the time of adoption and had to return him to the shelter in early August. Turns out that we're on the hook for the remaining seven monthly fees. At the time we signed up, Banfield did not make it clear that the plan was non-cancelable. Our bad for not taking ... read more

Prices are extremely inflated and they recommend services strictly with the intent on getting pet owners to spend more money. They also push their wellness plans that, if you have a relatively healthy dog, will cost you more money than needed.

We have been taking our dogs to Banfield in South-Central New Jersey for many years now, and with the exception of questioning if our dogs need and are getting sick from the yearly Bordetella and Leptosporosis vaccines every year, and some other services that were over-priced, we have alway had a good experience. However, all those years of good were changed recently after we brought our dogs in for their annual dental treatments. For years now, when our dogs dentals have been done, the vet would always call us while our dog... read more

My husband and I contracted COVID back in February 2021. We were unable to pay our monthly Monthly wellness plan for our puppy. When I received the collection notice in June 2021. I called Banfield front desk at the Smyrna location to resolve and they directed to me their 866 number. I called and chose the option for a call back. I never received the call back and ended paying cash for the Bordetella shot my puppy needed. Banfield's collection agency - ** ******, called me. ** ****** agent named 'Heather' used the most aggre... read more
