the worst experience I've had! I had a wellness plan for my dog ??that I paid for every month. It was an automatic payment. Every month I saw a payment to Banfield Hospital on my bank statement, I knew I was paying them so I didn't pay attention to the dates they withdrew the money. When I paid attention to the dates, I saw that they have been withdrawing double payment every month for 2 years. Lack of knowledge! Lack of communication!took my dog for x-rays, very vague in explaining the problem, they don't know what they are talking about. had the audacity to tell me i can make an appointment for a consultation with the company who will be doing the surgery and the cost will be approx $150.00 and surgery will run about 5-7k, all they could say is my dog has soft tissue on her back leg, and will possibly need surgery. i had to call 3 times to get the results of the xrays, and i called 3 additional times to obtain a ... read more

Total scam. My pet died so I tried to cancel my plan wellness plan. I was told there was no account for me. No account?! They've been taking ***** from my account for years but I have no account? I called customer service only to sit on hold for hours and them I was hung up on. Totally a scam. If I get another dog, I will definitely not being them again!

I have had the Optimal Wellness Plan for my cat, Jaycee, ever since I got her in 2021. Upon signing up for the plan, they ask for a card to be saved on file for the plan to pull payments for. My card method of choice twas a ***** ****** ****ending in ****. This card has always had the payments pulled from it with no issue. Recently, starting around June/July 2023, I started using my debit card ending in **** to make payments. I NEVER changed the payment method or authorized the card to be charged UNLESS I called in. The wellness plan *** seem like a good idea but if your dog dies unexpectedly you are still responsible for paying for however long is remaining on the plan. We wont have a dog after tomorrow and still have to pay for close to a year for a service we cannot use. Do not get the wellness plan. Its ridiculous that we have to pay for an animal we do not have anymore. Their wellness plan is a scam. Period. Do not do it.Also, my dog was having breathing problems during the heat wave. I took her in and the Banfield vet looked me in the eyes and asked me if I wanted to euthanize her! Said her breathing was not going to improve and let's talk packages!! $189 to euthanize and cremate. $500 if I wanted her ashes back. After shedding tears I said I would go get my husband. They are scammers, they give you a plan without notification and then you can't cancel it. You call and they leave you on hold for an hour or more, they send you to another department and you continue on hold for another hour. This supposed medical plan is a scam, and they also threaten to send you to the credit bureau. Psychologically I am very affected, I also checked my bills and they charged me for tests and medicines that were not indicated for me. This is everything wrong with this hospital

If I could rate with no stars I would, this place should be shut down nobody should have to put up with the nonsense this company has brought on me. First do not I mean do not get a wellness plan, it is a scam for them to force medications on you that are not good for our pets. I specifically told my Banfield location I wanted a certain heartworm medication I had been using for my dog since I adopted him and they completely disregarded me because of my wellness plan. I recently had to have my pet put to sleep which as unexpected and I notified Banfield about this and asked how do I cancel my plan. I received an email saying that I would need to either pay in full the remainder of the contract or keep paying the monthly fee until the end of the contract. I told them that is horrible that I had no idea that I would have to go through this horrible experience when I brought her in and they should make an exception - NOPE NOT AT ALL. What kind of nonsense is that? There should be exceptions.... read more
