Equitable knowingly continues to invest and play with a deceased individual's money. Equitable knew my mother died, a claim was made, and continued to invest her money in order to benefit their company. I was advised I had a year to make a decision and her account would be frozen. Yet they continued to invest her money. The customer service reps will try to deflect but in the end this is what they do. It is unethical.

When I was a 23 year old new middle school math teacher, an Axa Equitable sales representative came into my classroom selling retirement plans. I thought it was part of our school plan and signed up for monthly contributions. It turns out that the plan is set up with high fees and a surrender charge that applies even after contributing for 10 years. I have been trying at various times to move the account to my new employer, but they do not have online transfers available, they require you to call in to speak with a represent... read more

Have you ever watched the Friends episode where **** and ******** try to get out of their gym membership and bank but the two places make it so hard they think they never will? Thats exactly what trying to get YOUR money out is like. AXA Equitable is the scam business of the investment world. My initial advisor, ********************* was awful. He speaks a very convincing game and follows up with no action. It was hard to get a hold of him some of the time and he did the bare minimum to help. When I was so tired to them and ... read more

Terrible whole life term policy, Started paying $150 as the salesman recommended, saying will be a very little increase in the future. The little increase will not exceed a few dollars. Now the ANNUAL FEES IS $14,000 yes $14k fourteen thousand dollars; pay it or the policy will be dropped with no value to pay back even a few dollars.

This company is simply horrible. My mother signed up for some type of policy, but she died without a will. It has been a nightmare trying to get a clear answer from anyone at this company. My attorney has called, sent emails, sent packets of information - and almost every time they actually get someone on the phone - which is somewhat of a miracle - they get a different story. With everything we are dealing with right now, not to mention the extra costs the attorney is racking up from this - this is the last thing we need. I... read more

Avoid this company at all costs! Terrible, horrific, worst-ever customer service! I recently moved and rather than contacting me at the email or phone number on file when the renewal was due, Equitable simply cancelled the policy. When I tried to update this information on their website, I was forced to call ***************** After two separate calls with an OVERSEAS ******** Service agent to change my address and pay the premium/penalty to get the policy reinstated, I still do not have the forms needed to do so despite bein... read more

If I could, I would give this a negative five-star rating. Consumer beware! This company is HUGE and also goes by Equi-Vest along with other pseudonyms.I should've filed this complaint against AXA Equitable Financial **** months ago, but I was consistently diverted and misled to believe that there was effort being made to help me with a Rollover Request. Like the many other complaints filed against Equitable, I too received a whole lot of running around without much, if any, gain. Every representative there seems to have the... read more

I'm writing this from the perspective of an employer and 401k plan sponsor. We had a multiple employer plan setup with them. If you are thinking of doing business with them, don't! Horrible service, horrible platform, awful technology. They strung us along with empty promises for 2 years. I assure you, it's not fun or easy to move a MEP from one administrator to another. However, it had to be done. Simply terrible to do business with!
