As a business professional myself for over 25 years, I have never posted a complaint on the BBB until now. Ronald B******, a financial advisor, with Equitable Advisors, FKA AXA Advisors, was my financial advisors for over 10 years. However, after some changes in my life, I made the decision to move the funds I invested with him and Equitable to another financial investment company. Ron contacted me after I had moved the funds explaining that the transfer wasn't complete due to me using incorrect forms from the Equitable Advi... read more

Been trying for months to transfer a 403b account to another carrier due to an independence requirement issued by my current employer. The service has been absolutely horrible and it is evident that Equitable is doing everything to stall the process. They told me they were sending me a form with "contract specific information" and they would send it via mail as soon as possible. 20 days later I received the form and the only contract specific information was the contract number which we already had and I found out that the f... read more

Cut my mom and dad’s annuity off days after my father passed away. Took money out of her account without contacting her and now she has been overdrafted immensely day after day from bills normally paid with this money. No contact about my dads passing, no personal contact at all, and she has had to sit on hold for almost an hour to get a young snippy person who was of no help. They said money ran out years ago. Which is **. Money is invested and gaining interest and with stock market progress, there’s no way the money is gon... read more

AXA is the absolute WORST to invest money with. Its not really investing. Their entire business model is to pillage & steal as much of YOUR money as they can in a bull market & when the market falls, *** YOUR ASSET FALLS DISPROPORTIONATLY *** On top of this, they **** an additional 2.5% annually off my 6 figure annuity & ZERO SUPPORT! NO HELP! NO ANNUAL CHECK UP. NO HOWS IT GOING with my 150k ... Pathetic customer service. I LOATH this company!!! After 13 years, I'll be lucky to break even on this annuity... Lets call it wha... read more

Equitable has done a good job with my annuity. It looks like equitable has different product lines that people are having issues with. The main complaint seems to be customer service. I've never had issues with CS, my advisor hasn't experienced any delays either. I came to this site as I'm looking to putting more money into a different type of account and wanted to do my due diligence once again. Needless to say, I'm shocked at the complaints here.

So far I have spent almost two hours on hold. Worst customer experience I've ever had and I'm almost 60. Called the customer service number. I started a stopwatch because they have been slow in the past. After 54 minutes a representative came on and asked for my name and contract number. He took a minute or two, then said "may I put you on hold for a minute?". Without waiting even a fraction of a second for me to answer put me on hold. Then, the automated voice told me that I was 70th in line! I had already been on the line ... read more

Was invested with John C****** of AXA for 10 years in a Ross IRA . I would have been better off leaving my money in a bank account. When I decided to leave AXA they charged me a handling fee of $1600 and another 120 dollars administration fee. I lost allot of money using this company and it was in a guaranteed fund.

I wish I had researched them better, They get your money, and play games to keep you from cashing in (I wish there was a lower rating possible). I bought an annuity 13 years ago, through fees and small print, it has not grown. Now as I am trying to get my account annuitized, they again play games, and do not assist, but rather run you around in circles. Horrible company, horrible NASTY help.
