Very deceptive business practices; preying on educators in particular. I was initially misled to believe that Equitable was the only option available for opening a retirement plan. Then I was strongly encouraged to max out contributions into funds with higher fees. These fees were complicated & unclear. The most frustrating of all though are the fees & difficulty associated with trying to rollover into a different retirement account, which were not clearly disclosed. Horrible customer service. I am the Trustee for 5 life insurance policies with Equitable and this company is absolutely horrible to deal with. You can never get a hold of anyone in customer service and when you do finally get a hold of someone they barely speak English.
Horrible customer service. Can not reach them by phone. You stay on perpetual hold. If you opt for a call back, good luck. They do not call back. Their website goes down, you can't access your account and cannot reach anyone. Very disturbing. After days and hours of trying to get a resolution, still no resolution.
I had a heck of time with this financial/ broker institution for the past 3 weeks and some one has to look into this . We cannot get any thing thru their web site and just a waste , including their dead chat which never opens , instead it tells you to call customer service. After getting no were .I have send 2 emails. and one responded, but I was afraid to open his email as a SCAM , which asks me to open a link and prompt for id and password. Have been trying to transfer a 403b to a different provider, have been given the run around for over 4 months now. Have been on hold for over 30 minnutes to make sure my paperwork is all in check. Original paperwork was denied because of TPA missing, however I filled out and was approved by OMNI 403b. Attention all educators, do not invest with Equitable or ***, you are better off with any other company
I have tried to call and the wait to talk to someone was more than 30 minutes. When she got on the phone. She was impatient to get me off the phone almost immediately, She did not ask me what I needed help with and when we finally got to my request. She failed to follow through with it, I asked for a form to be emailed, Simple request. Horrible Customer Service !! It takes me between 30-45 mins to reach a human when I call customer service. After I reach a human, they can NOT answer my question. I would like a competent representative from the company to contact me. Thank You, **** *.
This is the worst Annuity company to put your assets.To rollover my savings took me to start the same process three times, they give 90 days to do it but the process is longer than that and then they ask you to restart the process over and over. I tried to rollover my savings for 6 months and they still they asked to restart my process. I ended up restarting withdrawal my savings instead of rolling over to my new annuity plan in a different company and having to pay the penalty because they were unable to do it, and asked to... read more
