I went to drop off my rental car on Wednesday 5/19/21 and was over charged by an extreme amount, I was disrespected by the branch manager, John ***** who put his hands on me out of anger. He told me my card would be charged for 449$ with a 200$ refunded fee, I call my husband to make sure that was the correct amount, he says yes so I told John to continue processing. Avis is very unprofessional. I reserved a car 2 weeks in advance just be certain I can get my vehicle of choice. When I arrived the representative was in sweat pants and flip flops and talking to random guy about her feet. The car size I needed was not available. Then I had to get a smaller car. On top of that I had to wait an extra hour for them to clean the car. When I got the car it had a nail in the tire. When I called customer service it took over 40 minutes to get someone on the phone.

I didn't receive the the vehicle I rented on a full tank as it was below full a full tank on the meter. I then go to let the employee know it wasn't a full tank and that he will take care of it and not to worry about it. I then fill up the tank to ABOVE where it was at when I received it. Right under full. I then receive a $50 charge for gas saying they gave me the vehicle with 8L/8L and that I returned it with 6L/8L and I have the receipts to prove I fueled up the vehicle. Not a trustworthy company at all.

Don't rent from Avis, at least, at Orlando Airport. 1) Took about 2 hrs standing at the counter to get our car when we checked in already online. No separate line for people who have checked in online. 2) Trusting this company which you should not. We drove the car thinking there was a full tank of gas. NOT! After driving for about 50 miles, the empty gas tank light came on and wow! Called Avis and the only thing they can do is to make a note of it on our account and take care of it when we return the car. REALLY? Can't wait... read more

If I could give zero stars I would. After trying to reach customer service for almost three days, being transferred to multiple people and being on hold for hours I finally got someone at customer service who couldn't help with fixing my profile so that I could actually rent a car. She, of course, couldn't help and will now escalate the issue and will be contacted in 3-5 business days. I'll not hold my breath on that one. Avis let me prepay online with my debit card to pick up a vehicle. Upon arriving I was declined a rental because I am 24 and not allowed to use a debit card in my name to collect the the pre authorization fee of $250 because I am 24. I serve in the United States armed forces and booked under the proposed discount. This age and younger can only use credit cards for the fee but not to actually pay for the rental which is incredibly moronic. Wish I could leave 0 stars because they don't even deserve one. I rented from them 9 months ago, and was double charged. My card declined the second charge and marked it as fraudulent. 9 months later and I have had numerous letters sent trying to reclaim the fraudulent charge & they are now sending me to collections. Reaching their customer service team is nearly impossible and all they do is try to get me to pay the second charge. No real attempt to help me settle this situation unless it ends with me paying them more money... read more

I rented a car thru ********* rewards cc and paid in full for the rental at the airport in Aruba, I am legally deaf and have serious vision issues. I was charged 326.00 dollars by Avis for extra insurance I never elected. The extra charges were never explained to me and I could not hear them if they were. I submitted a claim and was denied. So disappointed!! Booked an suv for my sons prom. We booked it 3 weeks in advance.. Day of prom we go to pick up our reserved suv (many confirmation emails were sent) they told us they had rented our vehicle to someone else. We called customer service , no reason or apology was given just an oh well attitude. Our son his date and 2 other couples had to cram into our murano. Thanks for the great experience avis.
