The front desk associate was friendly and professional. I booked through ****** travel and was given a rate. My rental agreement signed at the counter displayed the same rate. There was no mention or confirmation of drop off time, but my agreement showed 2:42pm. I returned the car by 4:05pm and my receipt showed 4:15 due to the rep looking over the car and taking some time to print my receipt. I was on a family vacation In Florida from 4/8-4/13/21 and had a rental with Avis. The experience was great up until I returned the car. I stopped to fill the truck up at a 7 Eleven 20 minutes always from Airport and when I checked truck in they checked everything off I get all the way back to Michigan and then they try to charge me $162 for gas stating that I never put gas in the car. This is a Buyer Beware review. When my husband and I made our reservation to pick up a rental in Florida, we declined all additional insurance coverage. It says that on the reservation. When my husband picked up the car from the airport, he simply picked up the car. Did not look at the receipt unfortunately because we had already had a confirmed reservation. So my husband and I live in Alaska and came to visit Wilmington North Carolina and we went online and rented a large suv and paid in full months ago. Arrive here at Avis to be told oh not only do they not have a large suv for us that it would take days to get a refund. Here we are stuck with no car for my large family. I was dumb found. Please save yourself the heartache. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. 4 hours sitting at the rental car agent because 3 different people at the company didn't know the card that PREPAID the rental could not be done on that card. Despite at least 3 times asking the specific question. They already HAD their money. They cancelled the rental, required a different card which had to be driven to the location to be physically presented and then they rented the car to someone else and said oops out of cars ve... read more

I rented a vehicle at the Flushing, New York (JFK Airport). I prepaid on my credit card.. When I noticed the pick up time was 12 noon, i called to correct and they proceeded to charge me extra which i understand. Three days into my trip I got a Check Engine Light and Low Tire Pressure Light. I used their Roadside Service to tow car away. I waited 2 1/2 hours for the service to show up. Rented an intermediate suv for $430.03 (prepaid) on March 19 2021 at the Tampa airport for 6 days. When we got home and looked at our e-receipt they are charging us $392 dollars more. They said I went in and made modifications to our reservations. No modifications were made and they cannot tell me what changed. After the phone call with the rep. I got an e-mail saying reservation confirmation. What?? This is some shady **** here. I am in the process of disputing this.

I reserved a hatchback ("Kia Soul or similar"), and I called to confirm that I would get the type of car that I reserved. After arriving and signing the paperwork, the clerk showed me to a beat up compact car that was too small for my needs. There was another customer waiting, and the clerk kept telling me that it would fit the same amount, so I felt super pressured to just take the car. I ordered and paid for my Avis car rental online. They scanned my debit card. I was told I would have to pay a deposit at pickup because of the debit card. No problem. I arrived at Ohare Airport and took a shuttle to the car rental building. The building is huge and there was one person in the entire building. I finally found the only employee after taking an elevator and escalator and finally finding him at the Budget Car counter and prayed that he would also take care of Avis.
