The company has been completely unprofessional while handling my reservation. I made a reservation on March 18 for a 7 passenger vehicle for our Florida trip. I arrived today at my reserved time to pick up our rental since we are leaving tonight and was told that they don't have the vehicle at this time and it should be there by 2 and to come back at that time. Stay away from this company. I was rented an unsafe car with bald tires 2 times in a row. One of the 2 cars broke down on me and delayed my trip. Terrible customer service and I dont have a doubt that I was in serious danger on the road before the tire started to leak air. I truly believe that with the shortage of rental cars available, Avis is allowing unsafe cars to be rented. Greedy and terrible.

I have done business with Avis for several years, however I will never do business with Avis ever again and I will spread the word about how they scam people. Back in February I prepaid online for a rental in Vegas for 7 days upon returning the vehicle I was told everything was fine. In March I prepaid for another rental for Michigan with Avis. I rented a car from the Avis at the Orlando Airport. I filled the tank before returning the car. On my receipt I was charged $209.79 for Fuel Service. I called the Avis billing line (wait was 45 minutes). Upon talking with the service representative, he informed me that he was unable to assist and that I needed to talk to the Avis return person in Orlando. AVIS allows for unethical business practices at their international rental sites. I attempted to resolve an issue directly with AVIS in which the rental car insurance I paid prior to arriving at AVIS, that was promoted by American Airlines when I booked the AVIS rental car through them, was not honored. On top of that the associate at AVIS in Costa Rica insisted that I must accept additional charges that should have been optional. I rented a car from Avis 5-14-21 through 5-22-21 and it was the most horrible experience I ever had renting a car. Let start with that the car that I prepaid for was not there and they offered me a different vehicle that didn't have enough seats for my family vacation. almost $300 for a 1 day rental is an absolute joke. I also went with the cheapest, subcompact vehicle and ended up with a "free" upgrade, so I wasn't even trying to rent some luxury car. Avis will charge you again after you pay almost $200 online to reserve the car. They can screw me over once, but this is the last time i'll give Avis, or any company they own, anymore of my money.

They canceled my reservation 2 days before my vacation trip. They say that reservations do not reserve. If they have given the car to someone else you are out of luck. This is the most ridiculous company I have ever dealt with.
