I booked a 2 day rental using the prepaid option with Avis online. The total estimated cost came to $196.58. I said I would pick it up at 13:00 on Friday and return it at 13:00 on Sunday. My flight arrived early and I asked Avis in Memphis if the car was ready, they said it was so I picked it up at 12:00 noon. I returned the vehicle on time at 13:00 on Sunday. I had a online reservation for a standard car from 8/14/2021 to 8/22/2021. I called the local office at ********* Daytona beach Florida, 2 hours prior to my 12:00 pickup, I wanted to clarify their weekend hours. We rented a vehicle for 6 days while on vacation at the end our vacation we refueled the vehicle completely before returning the vehicle as agreed upon. We get home to find out we're being charged for not refueling the vehicle so we called and they said they didn't charge us $140 fee and that our travel agency did which we knew wasn't the case so we continued to find out what the charge was and were told we didn't completely fill the vehicle. I am only writing this because I want to see AVIS improve and prosper: I just called Avis and the 1st rep I got just sounded like she did not want to answer the phone; she was not overtly rude , however I could hear covert frustration her voice...and I wanted was some infio ---I called back again and talk to a rep that talked so fast that he sounded like a used car salesman. zero stars. I lost a wallet in a rental car and have spent 4 DAYS trying to speak to a human about it, after following all of their automated prompts (filing a lost claim, etc). I've received no help and spent hours on the phone with them. horrible customer service.

I have booked a car at a price of $ 1321,75$ booking # ************** Upon receipt of the car, the employee confirmed this amount as final. I did not agree or choose any additional options. When I picked up the car, I told the manager that I do not need any additional services! Also, I do not need their RSN and I want the rental amount to be the one specified in the $ contract 1321$. First issue with Avis was their reluctance to refund the difference for paying for a full sized car but receiving only a compact car. They refunded only $12 for a 5 day rental. Second issue was their attempt to charge is an additional $146 upon the cars return which we only noticed on our credit card statement. They quickly refunded the $146 in 3 separate credits (why 3 credits???). They also never explained the $146 charge. Although this particular Avis Budget office located on 3 South Tunnel road at the Asheville Mall in Asheville, NC has had complaints over the years about how horribly the staff treats their customers, there is one person in particular that I am complaining about. Avis tried to charge me $450.00 for a cleaning fee. My receipt that was given when I returned the car showed a charge of $477.00. This was fine. But when I looked at my **** charges on line, I saw that it was upped to $950.00. When I called about it, I was told that there was "pet hair and sand" in the car and that the car "had to be detailed." There was never a pet in the car so there was no pet hair, and the sand couldn't have totaled more than 1/2 teaspoon. I could have vacuumed the car out myself I'm less than 5 minutes.... read more
