I've rented this car from Avis in Knoxville location got there and rented the car we had altercations with the rental the quoted price wasn't the same we argued about that they asked if we wanted insurance and the other little options that cost more money we told them no twice I drove to Illinois to pick up a friend once I got to Illinois I realized they had put a 975 hold on my money in my bank leaving me with just $29 to my name in Illinois they did not tell us in person that there would be a $350 deductible it was not on ... read more

I rented from Avis on 9-11-21 in Chesapeake Virginia. After picking the car up, while driving I noticed an ant crawling on the dash. I continued driving and didn't think much about it. I then feel something crawling on my leg, it's another ant. Once I got to my destination I looked around the car and when you opened the passenger door I seen over 50 ants. If half a star was permissable, I would give Avis that. I reserved a car and they did not have the car which I needed so I was told to file for a cancellation and that it would not be refunded. Ok, I asked for a partial refund and received no word except that my notations would be added to my file. Really? I lose out on a fair amount of cash and I get no real explanation. Poor customer service.

This is the second and the last time I will be Renting from the Avis location at 5770 Peachtree Industrial Blvd in Norcross Georgia. I needed a vehicle to rent for just 1 day with a pick up time at 12:00 Noon on Saturday. I did not notice the sign on the door with the hours of operations, or else I would have asked a question about it. The manager who upgraded me into a different vehicle because they had no more full size cars never mentioned it. I am never renting from Avis again. I rented a car this past weekend and accidently lost my key. I called Avis roadside assistance and they said that they would have to tow it away. I was alone and only had an alternate mode of transportation for that night. The roadside assistance stated that they would let the tow guy know that I needed a ride to the rental facility. Rented us a car that two hours off the lot showed a "break system failure error" and would not refund. AVIS reps told us that their roadside assistance service would not help us so we had to call a third party tow truck company to move the vehicle. They made it very difficult to get the car replaced. Terrible customer service, ruined my vacation. Not reliable.

THREE BROKEN VEHICLES On August 1, 2021 I picked up and SUV at the Louisville airport. The service desk did not follow covid guidelines at all, and did not adhere to their "Avis safety pledge" sign standing in front of their checkout window. This made me very uncomfortable. I'm extremely disappointed with my Avis car rental experience and believe they practiced "bait and switch". When I reserved the car, I was given an estimate of $587.26 (base rate and taxes/fees). When I picked up the car, there were significant additional charges and the agent explained that these were automatic and would be adjusted upon return of the rental. I booked a car with them through *******. They confirmed the reservation and allowed me to prepay. When I showed up at the designated time, they said they didn't have any cars at their location on Courtland Street in Atlanta, or at their other Atlanta location at Hartsfield Jackson Airport. They were unfriendly, unsympathetic, and unwilling to help me find an alternative.
