Had a rental reservation at PIT for 2 days from 10/24 - 10/26. Found out the plane was going to be delayed early on 10/24. I contacted Avis customer service to advise them, I was told to contact the airport desk directly, but there was no option to do so. Mistake after mistake, with the reservation process, the vehicle itself, billing, a $2,000 overcharge, the refund, and customer service. An almost comically poor experience at every stage.

Bad experience with Avis rental international. Buyer beware! Avis international is different than US. You might as well rent from a European company. I booked a car in Bari, Italy online through Avis. the return address was wrong on my reservation. Caused me 2 hrs delay as I was driving around Naples in very heavy traffic for that time looking for the return location/address. This is not my first bad experience with Avis rental outside the US.
Just received a $250 charge from Avis saying that I didn't return the car in the same condition 3 weeks later. When I asked them what the issue was they said there was alot of sand in the car. I then argue with them the following: 1) When I inspected the car with the Avis representative during return everything was fine. He also said everything was good. 2) Sand? Wow! What an awful experience! We went with Avis because it's a reputable premium service, we prepaid for a premium car for a family vacation. And when we arrived to pick up our car there was not car ready. They offered us a car with a cracked windshield and a free tank of gas for the inconvenience or an option to downgrade at the same price we paid for the premium vehicle. Avis you should be ashamed of yourself! And should no longer be in business with your unethical business practice! MY original rental was through ********* and they quoted me 202.17 for the three day rental. Because of medical reasons we couldn't get the car back on time to be dropped off at the rental center in Hayward CA. We had contacted Avis directly on our date of return to extend it for an extra day. The quoted price was 85 dollars this includes tax and fees. Using the Avis App when renting my vehicle resulted in Avis having no record of my rental agreement or that I had rented a car. I could not get any assistance despite multiple calls and much time on hold to the Customer Service number. All customer complaints are sent to one call center staffed by poorly trained reps, who have no resources to solve issues and no way to accelerate them promptly. Prepaid for a rental car and my location was closed. Called customer service and they told me they would refund my money. Immediately got an email that would refund in 3-5 business days but charged me a 150.00 for cancellation that I had no control over. Horrible customer service. My self and my company will never use again.

I wish I could leave a 0 stars. This company never has the car you see in the website!!! also customer service at Miami intl. airport is the worst! I had to wait 3 hours for a car that I didn't even want to! Also, the lady at the counter told me that they will refund the deposit but wasn't true! It has been three months that I rented the car and I haven't received the deposit and I wont received the deposit because they are charging extra fees!!!!
