I will never rent from Avis Rental 5911 Blair Rd Washington, Dc 20011. The Manager/ Owner Mr. ***** (he told me he's the owner/manager of this location and another location in silver spring) has been taking money from all of my accounts illegally. He also tried to make a fraud claim on a vehicle that he rented to me that was already damaged and he tried to later blame me for. I rented a car with my 16 year old son while in Vegas used maybe 30 miles. The guy at the counter added insurance even though I declined and made it seem like it was declined because he said "Well, if anything happens to car it's your fault". They don't print the agreements you know cause of COVID which seems like the perfect opportunity for a fraudulent employee to add items even though you decline. I have great insurance why would I add? Will never use again.

I made a reservation for a hybrid car at BWI airport for 4 days. As I made my reservation, the base rate was shown as $407.69. When I got the confirmation (less than 1 minute later) the base rate was changed to $567.89. The increase was not due to taxes or extra fees. When those were added to the new base rate of $567.89, the total became $745.88. (And yes, of course, those same fees and taxes would have been added to the original base rate of $407.69.) Made a reservation 2 weeks ago. Showed up today and there is a handwritten sign saying: "Avis closed until further notice". Im one of several people who were unable to get my car because this location has no employees. I called Avis HQ and they assured me that I was mistaken and there really was a person there, despite my standing at the desk. As a AVIS Preferred Member I received less competitive price than the website. When I contacted AVIS customer service the service representative agree to adjust the price then his decision was overturned without any communication to me the member. Overall, the prices on the Preferred APP did not reflect the actual car rental estimate of $200.81 and I was charged $751 for a one-day rental which would have cost $349.00 if I booked the same car to the same locations using the website. I have used Avis for years. Loved it...because there was never any problem with the car. This time, however, has made me decide to NEVER use Avis again! While traveling in England we rented a vehicle. We decided to purchase the $1000 cap on damages, which ended up being a good idea because on a very narrow road we got boxed incars on all sides and ended up scraping the front bumper. I was overcharged $509; $255 each week which put my account in the negative. At the counter in Atlanta on courtland st they did not return the over charge which leaves my account negative. Two week later after the car was returned they charge me $220 for a tow that was not my fault the vechile had two flat tires. My account in now -708 all from Uber rental charges thru avis. But my bill is paid in full. Ridiculous

Deceptive practices. I reserved a car at the Denver Airport. The Web site baited me in to pre-paying, so I pushed the pre-pay button. The next day I learned I was being picked up so I tried to cancel my reservation and was told I would be charged $50 because I pre-paid. I spoke with a customer support supervisor who said the charge is due because it was clearly stated in the terms and conditions. That is not the case.
