Avis charged me six separate times for the same 2 reservations. When attempting to call their customer service, the lady who called me back was rude, kept interrupting me, was heard screaming at someone in the background, had kids crying in the background, and I had to explain my issue SEVERAL times. Even after explaining it, she didn't understand. When I asked her to stop interrupting me she disconnected. This is by far the worst customer service I've ever received

Franchise Owners like this one destroy the brand name. Admittedly I made a mistake while reserving online. There is a feature that allows you to pre pay for your rental with your primary payment card on ****** or ******. What is not clear on the website is that by making that pre payment you will now pay an additional 50 bucks on your deposit. There is no going back cancelling the payment without losing money. Avis Car Rental is a company to avoid. I booked a sedan at $374 with them. Got my receipt and now it went up to $654.... If you book with Avis, double the "Estimated" cost amount you see upfront and that'll get you closer to your final payment.... Best to just AVOID THIS COMPANY IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.

Horrible customer service. Changed our rate and never told us until they charged our credit card three times. Will not take calls. They email and won't speak to the customer.

Terrible experience at Boston airport. Over an hour wait to pick up a reserved car. Only 3 guys working and over 50 people in line. Corporate incompetence at its worst since they know exactly how many cars are due to go out throughout the day and should staff accordingly.

For about 8 years, I have had a great business relationship with Avis. They always came through for me when I needed a car for my vacations or emergencies when I had no credit card. That all stopped last year when I was trying to rent a vehicle with them when my car was wrecked. They seemed to have started a deposit policy that causes a huge conflict with the customer. Avis charged me a hidden fee and for driving under 75 miles. Had to wait on hold for 2.5 hours to get a hold of a representative. They said the fee was due to a "malfunctioning gas level checking device". When I asked why they charge a fee if they have a known malfunctioning/uncalibrated device, the answer was avoided. Very shady business practice to add on fees and then make people wait excessively in hopes they don't dispute the charges.

I regularly use Avis for my rental cars and always travel with a service dog. They just charged me $450 for hair left by my service dog. There is not a chance it costs that much money to vacuum the last seat. Absolutely ridiculous way to read a loyal customer. Last time myself or my business will use Avis.

Booked a car at the Denver Airport AVIS and prepaid weeks in advance. Upon arrival to pick up the car, the customer service lady said she had no access to look up my avis number to attach it to the reservation. She informed me I would have to go to a different building in order to have them search. I said no, we have to be somewhere and cannot afford waiting in another line over 30 people deep.
