I moved to Hilton Head and am new to using LP Gas. I called in last week to get my tank refilled, since the gauge was down to less than 10%. They told me that it would be 7-10 days before they could make a delivery. But if you want it faster, they would see what they could do , or charge $200 surcharge for 24 hour delivery. I was travelling the next day. When we got home last night, they had filled the tank and locked the tank so no gas is coming through. New to Propane, been at property less than 3 months when co2 detector went off. Called Amerigas and was told someone would be out. 20 minutes later a tech calls and says he has to come out to turn it off. Well we, of course had already done that, but he said it was policy, and would have to "re-shut it off" !?? ... but could not do anything to check on the leak. He lied. He LOCKED the tank and left. Amerigas lies about prices and fools you into false delivery times. Otherwise, they are great. They told me $2.09 per gallon but when scheduling delivery, the price went up over $4! Scheduling service requires multiple phone calls and literally more than an hour waiting on hold! These guys are crooks and incompetent to boot. I give them a much deserved "F."

To bad you can't leave zero stars. This company bought out all the smaller propane companies around us so they could dominate. Yet when we have a cold winter they can not keep up and will not even answer the phone. They have so many add on charges that you are not aware of. If your tank goes empty they will charge you extra. I just closed my account with them and told them pick up their tank which I payed rent on every year. Now they want $150 to come pick it up. Worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. They filled our tank in Sept 2020 and noticed a lead in their tank. Said it would be fixed in 1 week. Called repeatedly for 4 months with promises to fix each time. Finally cancelled with them in Jan and it took until April for them to pick up the tank with repeated calls to their unprofessional customer service staff. They do not care about their customers or able to service their customer's needs. NEVER use them. We have a lot of other good providers in our area besides them... read more

I was paying 2.75/gallon and they kept filling my tank to 90%. I wanted a smaller tank which didn't happen and had another fill automatically happen. Canceled service and haven't been recompensed for the propane which was already paid for. They state they will not do so, also. Zero stars!

Worst company to work with. We switched companies about 2yrs ago, Amerigas has still not picked up their tank. They wanted to charge us $200 to remove THEIR tank from my property. It is such a hazard and super dangerous as my kids along with neighbors all play in the yard. AMERIGAS come get your tank.

Absolutely ridiculous customer service. We called them two times to set up a new service and twice, they told us that they would set up an account number. Currently, we have no heat in freezing weather and Amerigas customer service refuses to provide us with gas despite us offering a credit card number to charge to. We have young children in the house and Amerigas still claims they cannot offer us with gas although their negligence is the reason for our lack of gas. Terrible company with no humanity whatsoever.
