On May 31st I bout a couch and love seat. I was told the furniture was in stock. I set up a date for VCF to deliver because I needed time to get rid of my old furniture (furniture companies no longer take the old furniture due to bed bugs and Covid). We bought the insurance guaranteed warranty on all of the furniture we purchased with the promise of our sales rep that it would be much worth it . I recently bought a recliner from value city furniture. I only had it for 18 months and hardly used it. On Thursday,June 15 it caught on fire while my son was asleep on the couch next to the recliner. It instantaneously caught on fire my smoke detector went off My son was in shock and almost got burned!!! Im extremely disappointed that this furniture company would sell a faulty furniture that endangered our lives. In summary: Picked up couch from warehouse. One piece was right the other did not match. It will be 6 days until they have the right one to exchange. When I asked if they could send a tuck out to exchange, they said I would have to pay a delivery charge. The sales team was fine. Delivery and customer service afterward were horrible. The delivery team showed up in a Penske truck, so nobody knew they were delivery - the residents thought they were movers, which almost cost me a move-in fee - they blocked in half the building's cars with the truck so they could try to bring things in a door clearly marked "no large deliveries". Emailed and tweeted them two times With pictures of damaged items on March 26 and and April 14 and also spoke with Britney ******** service rep. ** fix or replace our table and chairs scheduled two time First appointment 04.06.22 no show. Second appointment 04.21.22 no show. We spent $3K and it was bad ******** service experience to me and my wife.
I like the store. And my Nala grey chase sofa I purchased September 2021 out of the Flint mi store. Also purchased pure promise 5 year warranty. I am a senior citizen living on social security. I have damage to the chase and end cushion. Was told by furniture store that was not a manufacturer default but accidental an covered by pure promise. The store on ************* in ********** ** is all about the sale. But afterward, you'll get little to no help from the management. This isn't a salesman problem. It's a product delivery and management problem. I walked around and selected the mattress I wanted. I paid over $900 for everything. When the mattress was delivered it was hard as concrete. I ordered furniture in February. It was delivered on march 26th. When it arrived the delivery drivers decided to steal the chest that came with the bedroom set and were caught on camera. Value city is refusing to give me the **** of the drivers so criminal charges can be filed or solve this issue. Do not shops with them unless you want your items stolen.
