I give one star because I cannot give a 0. I used them twice: once last year for a heart attack and once a few days ago for an acute pancreatic attack. 1st you are no free to go to the hospital you want (for the heart attack my son was with me and helped me with insisting to drop me where I wanted, **********************, very good for heart attack), but this time they wanted to drop me at Forsyth, 45min from my house. I had a stroke on Jan 14, 2022. My husband called 911. The EMTs arrived at our home and did a quick assessment (determined I could not feel anything on left side). They took me in the ambulance, gave me and IV and drove 1.1 miles to the *** My husband met me at the ** and provided the ** with insurance and billing information.On6/16/22, I got an Explanation of Benefits from Insurance re this AMR service. A deplorable outfit. Offices that handle different things all over the **** and none communicate with each other. I am care give to someone who applied for their ******************** program based in ***********************, and obviously they don't communicate with ************* ******* where their billing is located. Have made numerous calls, but few there speak or fully understand English. That is scary. And when you question them about anything, they talk over you or just hang up completely. This company has no problem balance billing the patient thousands of dollars even when the insurance covers 100% of the ambulance ride. They dont have a care in the world about working with the patient on a cost that even the insurance company thinks is unreasonably high. They can just make up whatever cost they want and force the patient to cover the difference. Very immoral and horrible customer **********************. Doesnt seem like the actually even care about the patients, just worried about profits.

I have been trying to reach someone at AMR to request they resubmit a claim to the insurance company. The original claim submitted was in error and this error caused insurance to deny the claim. I called the local **************** office, left a voice message and never received a return call. I called the ************* ******* number and spoke to a person who was hard to understand and in a noisy environment. They could only process a credit card, not help resolve an issue. AMR is a Financially unethical company and an abusive use of a monopoly.. A private company that gets nearly exclusive rights to ambulance services, collects generously overblown rates from insurance companies and then extorts private citizens of additional funds not covered by insurance. To force $50 minimum monthly payments by threat of collections, while being absolutely unwilling to accept $25 per month from blind, permanently disabled citizens living exclusively on $2,844 social security income here in the very expensiv... read more

This company has the worst billing department I have ever seen. They filed my claim incorrectly and refused to correct. Had to request all the documents from them and the file an appeal with ******** and ******** paid them right away. Unfortunately before that I made a mistake and sent them over $400 for 1 of the bills I received. I have been calling for months to get my refund because they have been paid twice. My 4 day old son had a choking incident at our home, we called 911 for assistance. By the time they got there he was starting to improve but the paramedic recommend he be transported for evaluation to the local ********* hospital. The paramedic never touched my son with a piece of equipment. He carried his car seat to the ambulance and strapped him to a bed. Not a sing vital sign was checked.
