First of all I have many accounts with America First CU (Truck, Car) great on that side, I have NEVER ever had a problem with customer service or my checking accounts EVER... however America First does NOT know their own products and requirements for their Mortgage department, they need to train their people better. I have had account with America First for over 20 years, I recently applied for a line of credit only to find out they use appraisers that used very old comparative house values to lower the value of your house so they can push people into their higher interest rates. According to AF the value of my house is $100,000 less than what houses around my neighborhood are selling for. If I could leave no stars I would. They are the worst EVER to have an auto loan. I cannot wait to refinance with a different company. My first payment was due during the months of when the Covid-19 pandemic started. At that point they did away with the $8 fee every time you make a payment via debit card or ach. I never once missed a payment. Just a couple months ago they resumed back to the $8 fee every payment you make. If you do the math, let’s say for a five year loan and you pay once a month. Stay away from trying to refinance a mortgage with this company. They will make it look easy online and offer low rates, however, they will have you send all paperwork needed and have you pay for an appraisal to be done ASAP to then ignore your calls and emails. I started the process 30+ days ago with no progress. They will blame delays on third party. I spoke with customer support who directed me to a lead. For a year now me and my mom have been paying every month on time, then last month, the agent who collected the payment collected short of .75 cents, then we get a letter of not paying the loan and that they will report it to the credit bureau. We went to their office and explained but they didn’t seem to care, they made us pay the .75 cents and said they would not charge a late fee when it’s their fault for not collecting the right amount!

I have a RV loan through them because they were recommended by the RV dealership (probably lowest bidder). I have never been late on a payment for anything in my life but I received two letters from them saying I was past due and that creditors would be notified. I was mortified. They didn't call me, email me, or anything. Just a letter saying that I was delinquent. **Honest Review** I usually had good experience with AFCU when I was up on my luck. But during a global pandemic AFCU really let me down. I applied for a personal loan for $2,150. Just enough to cover two medical expenses as a result of an unforeseen illness during a really trying time. I was denied with the only explanation being that I didn't have the income to cover the loan. I have never missed a payment on my Auto loan with AFCU. My net income monthly is $3,000.
