I feel very disappointed at the way I’ve been treated since I filed for bankruptcy Ch7. I was notified that my account was going to be terminated because I was a “financial loss” to the CU, those were the BK “supervisor” words that assisted me. Funny thing is that I never defaulted on my credit card with them not even once before or after filing. Due to COVID-19, insurance company offices were closed. Getting insurance on the trailer we were financing through America First took longer than expected. They charged us over $225 to cover the period of time during which we were trying to get coverage. I was told by 2 reps that this would be waved. The insurance department said the loan department could wave the fee due to COVID-19. H******** in the loan department said we would be credit the money as indicated by what she saw on the computer. Joke. Extremely annoyed because the online banking services are horrible - I have to call at inconvenient times for me (I work graves) to get information on my accounts so I can pay my loan (setting up direct deposit - I just need the account + routing). Instead of there being an approachable + open interface online or through the app: It locked me out of both. Says I need to call - Closed. Awesome. You only got my business because the interest rates are lower than a bank but I will always stay loyal to bigger banks to avoid... read more

I purchased a vehicle through a dealer and it was a very smooth transaction. When I purchased a recreational vehicle privately it was THE MOST AWFUL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. America First had no idea what documents were needed and even sent the seller the check for the vehicle before they had all the documentation to complete the transaction! Seller was paid and still owned the vehicle! After 8 MONTHS of back and forth I finally had to get the transaction completed myself. I have been a customer/share member since mid-1980s. Never have had a problem with my accounts, never an error, never been sold something I didn't buy (like credit insurance, etc.). I've always been treated nicely by any telephone representative. This institution didn't get to be 9th largest in the US by accident. I have had america first for around 15 years with my personal, i started a business account with them about 2 years ago, ever since my business account gets stopped if the check is over $1000 and they have to review it and half the time they try to hold it and i have to get upset and explain i am business for them not too. I have been putting up with this, until my recent experience that has made me make my decision to leave to another bank or credit union. This institution will add fees to your account under the guise that they are selling you insurance. They will not be able to answer questions clearly and will hang up on you if you catch them in a lie. Furthermore, they charge you to deposit money into their accounts and/or make payments. The customer is not important to this institution.

I have been dealing with this for over a month now. Every week I have to reset my password as it tells me my account is locked. Without me doing anything!!!! I refuse to change my account number as I have had it for my entire lifetime with America First Credit Union. So upgrade your security or prevent the hacker from gaining access without locking my account. I hope to hear back from you within a timely manner. Thank you
