On 10/31/22 my garage door springs and spring pad were replaced costing around $1500. On April 8, 2023 the garage door was slamming shut when I closed it. ****** replaced the springs because they both need to be large instead of one small and one large. He said he had to reset motor 30 times in which then the garage door wouldn't close. He said motor overheated. Finally it closed. I am very upset with A1 Garage Door for misleading information. I called for garage door service the morning of May 18th. The male who answered the phone set up a time for service that afternoon. While completing the call, he said A1 Garage Door would be out between 1 and 6. My reply was oh no, I thought I was talking to Overhead Door. His reply was they (A1) had acquired a number of companies. My response was you have purchased Overhead. His response was yes, they had acquired a number of companies. Couldn't be more disappointed with their service. I hired them to repair a garage door that wasnt working properly. The told me they did a several point inspection and that i needed to replace the spring. I was quoted $1200, which i knew was overpriced, but i was in a bind. The door had problems not even a couple days later. The technician went back out to inspect it and i was then told I needed to replace the motor. Questionable Pricing Practices. Non-disclosure of extra fees up front. Received a coupon in the mail from A1 Garage Door Service. There was no expiration, no mention of any additional charges, and no other ******************* The $59.95 Tune Up Special looked interesting, so I called to make an appointment. A1 is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my lifetime and I am 48. My friend who is 84 and lives next door to me swindled her before I was able to come come & see how they did it. They lie about a $39 estimate & then say no its actually $140 and I need that ********** bring out this imposing big men to intimidate you and threaten you they will put a lien on your house if you dont pay them. "Extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency and customer ********************** from A1 ********************** Door a service. I cancelled an order for a service I never received over 30 days ago and still haven't received a refund. On top of that, they charged me for service calls without disclosing the fees upfront. This is unacceptable and I would not recommend this company to anyone. I urge others to be cautious before doing business with them."

I called for their $129.99 fix of my garage door that wouldn't open. The price also included a new rubber bottom for the door. They did fix the door - it wasn't broken - the sensors were out of place. They told me that the rubber and type on the door was so old that they would have to charge me a different. price. I ended up paying ******. I called and told them that they were practicing false advertising. They texted me and said they were refund the travel charges. I have heard nothing since.This is a negative one star!

I called and requested a service call from A1 the morning of 3/30/2023. The spring on my garage door had broken and needed to be replaced. I was unable to obtain any cost information on the phone other than a trip charge cost of $39.95. The last time I had the springs replaced 6 yrs agp, the cost was $265 total and the estimates on **** and ***************** were in the $200-$350 range.
