I am having a serious problem with this company. They overcharged me $246.80 for a so-called fuel charge. This was never mentioned to me, is not part of my quote, and is not in my signed contract. I managed to get a refund of $146.80, but 1-800-PackRat still owes me $100.00. The customer service team refuses to refund the rest of the money they stole from me. This company is dishonest and tries to nickel and dime you after the contract. Holds items hostage and I yet to receive my stuff. We moved across country. First we were not told we would receive a steel cage that is not enclosed. Secondly we were told we would be notified when our items were shipped. Even after we called never told our items shipped. Once we find out we call to get a schedule and notice 200 more on higher charges to our credit card. Told fuel surcharges even after the contract was agreed upon. When we signed... read more

Very deceptive/deceitful company. I contracted with them to move my son's personal effects (when he left active duty with the Marines) from our home to the location of his home; ********** KY as he assumed a new job. We paid an additional $600 on top of the $2200 fee to have a container dropped at our home on 12 March for pickup on 13 March which, the Pack Rat rep said would give them the 5 working days they needed to get to ********** by the 20 March. The most deceptive company ever. I received a quote, In writing for two containers to move from *********** area to North Carolina. to quote the email from the sales manager, "you can have the containers delivered at the same time or staggered" I wanted the first container to be shipped ahead of the second container as the quote indicated I could, and then when calling for the second container the wanted to charge me $9218.00 instead of the $7795.00 quote, and then emailed me with another quote of $8300.00. I had an excellent experience doing business with Pack Rat. They were timely with their pick ups and drop offs. Making the arrangements was a breeze with exceptional customer service. I found their pricing very competitive. The drivers were friendly and very professional.

This has been the worst experience. My family of 8 moved across country from Texas to New Hampshire. Pods were delivered and picked up as scheduled. We have 3 16' trailers full of all our belongings. the last trailer was picked up on 1/27/21 with an expedited delivery date of 2/6/21. Received a phone call and email on 2/4/21 letting us know the shipping was delayed and our pods would be delivered on 2/8/21. OK disappointing but I could live with that. Hired movers for 2/9/2021 to arrive at 8:00am. No phone call, no email on ... read more

Shipping department is a joke. The customer service is useless. How do you operate a delivery business with no freight drivers? 6 week delay and 3 reschedules for a simple delivery. 1 star because you can't leave 0 stars. *********** is less than human (ext ***) if your trying to reach him, being rude to senior citizens isn't kosher! Do not do business with this company. Be warned

My zippyshell was scheduled to be delivered on 7/9 between 8-noon. No one ever showed up, and no one called me. I had to hunt down the ********* location's phone number and I had to call and ask where my unit was. The man on the other line said he "forgot to schedule my delivery" and had some workers come in to drive my unit from ********* to *********. When I asked why I hadn't been called, he had no answer other than "it's his second week as manager." This obviously significantly delayed the delivery (again...a simple phon... read more

Our church used this company to rent two pods. One was returned during 2019, but the last one was picked up 12/29/2020. There was a charge for a payment. I called for clarification. They told me the pod was still on our property. I stated it was not. The person that picked it up was supposed to contact me, but that never happened. I made up to eight calls. Finally I talked to someone 1/27/2021 and they stated the pod was delivered empty. I asked about the charge and I was given the name of the person, but he has been unavail... read more
