I used Pack Rat for a long distance move. They have been a colossal disappointment. They're delivery of my unit is going on two weeks late which can be expected for long distance moves. My issue is that I have no idea of when the unit left its destination, where the unit is located or when it will arrive. They have also charged me a monthly storage fee for my unit which has yet to be delivered and would not have been charged had the unit been delivered on time. Worst customer service, doesn't answer phone. Doesn't show up for drop off, won't give you any answers. DONT USE THEM!

Go elsewhere and run as fast as you can. Initial set up for pod delivery and to set up the service for storage things were good. However when I was ready to have the pod return to my new home it was awful. No one would answer the phone and I would be on hold for up to 2 hours no exaggeration. This company works with Simple Moving Labor to provide movers to move your items into storage but Pack Rat does a horrible job assisting with the coordination of getting both companies to be available on consecutive days. On the day of the move they called me and said the forklift is not working and could not pickup.. i asked for a new ETA and they dont have one.. and i have packed everything booked my flights around the move even called them 2 days before the move to confirm if everything ok and they said everything is on track.. my biggest question is if they cannot stick to their preferred schedule why do they even take the reservations.. i had to find some other movers ..delay my flights and go thru all the stress, pain and agony the cust... read more

Every interaction, a hassle. I have never experienced such a miserable customer experience in my life. From signing the contract, which could not be downloaded, to pickup, delivery, and then the pick up of the empty container, this company and their employees were inefficient, incompetent, disrespectful, and apathetic. Pack Rat has a huge problem with communication. Average on hold time is 1 hour +. We were supposed to have our containers delivered at the end of June. We got one on 7/12/21 the 2nd one was to dropped off on 7/28/21. I've been attempting to reach anyone with any info on when it will get here and hours of being on hold .when I do get a person to talk to I 'm put back on hold and finally told they are updating and will let me know and thing. This is the WORST company if you are planning a move. Our Container is currently 4 days late as I sit a write this review. Customer Service - what company does not communicate and get an ETA for their customers. What kind of company hires a driver that hangs up on you when your container is not 1, is not 2, is not 3 but 4 days late?!. To be honest, they were the only ones that we found who would bring a storage container to where we lived. We were selling our house and wanted to get most of our belongings out, so this seemed like the best plan. We had the initial call and listed off everything in our house that we needed to move and they assured us that it would all fit in one pod. Nothing lower than 1 Star too bad. I ordered a moving pod from 1-800-PACK-RAT for a move from Massachusetts to Georgia for myself and my son. When I ordered it I was told it would take 3 to 5 days to get to my house. The pod arrived a day late but was picked up on 6/28. I arrived in Georgia on 7/1 called and was told it was leaving Mass. that day. My parents arrived with my 6yo son 7/10. Still no pod.
