Dr Marks is very different from other orthopaedists. He works out of a research/teaching hospital, so the equipment and facilities are first class with many computers with MRI images and others in the operating room, and leisurely consultative diagnoses with 2 or more Drs as part of their training. They are smart, friendly, and funny and great at what they do. I just had my knee scoped a week ago and feeling great. Dr Marks runs a first class organization and service. He has a year long waiting list for new customers, doesn'... read more
Dr Marks was responsible for performing a ACL reconstructive surgery on my left knee on year ago (Nov 2008). He was very thorough and ensured that the proper physical therapy was followed to ensure that the surgery would be a success. I have returned to the activities that I was previously unable to participate such as soccer and have recently run a 10km race. Dr Marks and his staff are very professional and followed up regularly to ensure that I did not risk reinjury and was able to rebuild the strength and mobility.
Long wait for appt and long waits at the office, but he is excellent (and his interns who did my ACL repair surgery)
Dr. Marks was fantastic. I was completely at ease going into surgery for a torn meniscus. I had virtually no pain post op and have recovered quickly. Dr. Marks came highly recommended - my husband who is also a surgeon made sure I had the best. Thank you!!
Definitely a top notch surgeon. I recommend Dr. Marks as he correctly concluded that my 62 year old rotator cuff required surgery to correct a tear that was painful and prevented me from playing the sports that I had always played. Although the tear was larger than anticipated and at the outer limits of surgery, Dr. Marks had the skill to repair it. Now a year later I have played squash, tennis and golf without pain. Dr. Marks is personable, funny, warm and skilled. I recommend him without reservation.
Dr. Marks operated on one knee (ACL repair) and a year later operated on my other knee (ACL repair). Both times the surgery was flawless and my recovery was quick (according to a skilled PT). The second time his resident recommended that I forgo surgery as I am not a "professional athlete". Thankfully Dr. Marks over-ruled. I am 3 years (and 2 years) post-op and am still involved in regular and intense sport activity. Very satisfied. Need to roll with Dr. Marks' sense of humour.
Dr. Marks is the Doctor you want to see if you're dealing with an ACL injury. He is very informative, very responsive and very knowledgeable. You follow his protocol on the recovery road after the surgery and you will be a success story. If you need an ACL repair surgery i highly recommend to get his opinion.
Dr. Marks did reconstructive ACL surgery on my left knee using the patella method. I am a male and was 49 years old at the time of the surgery. I have waited 18 months to write this review to see how the recovery would go. My knee has recovered to full functionality. There is no pain during or after rigorous activity. I have returned to all my sports: downhill skiing, mountain biking, road cycling and golf. My initial consultation with Dr. Marks was very informative and helped me to reach an informed decision on how to proce... read more
Misfortune collided with my shoulder on 3 different occasions. In 1999, a hockey injury left me with serious damage to my left rotator cuff/labrum. In 2001 a dance ( ballet) injury to my right shoulder resulted in a small tear in my right rotator cuff/labrum. In 2008 I endured an injury that tore my rotator cuff/labrum as well as my bicep. Dr. Marks , repaired and advised me on all three injuries and I am thrilled to say that I have regained full usability, range of motion and strength to my shoulders. I might even be able t... read more
