I waited for my contract to end to terminate service. I was charged for months after my service was terminated. I have called to complain and they have sent my account to collections. Worst service ever, variable rates once contract ends. A total scam.

Xoom Energy engages in predatory contractual practices. It promotes low promotional rate plans, clearly spells out that when the promotional rate plan expires that it will change to a variable rate plan which is based on current market rates. This of course means the rate can increase, but you assume that the rate will be reasonable. THAT IS NOT THE CASE! My promotional rate went from 5.89 cents per KWH to 12.79 cents per KWH! I enrolled my gas bill through a friend during the summer of 2017. After the year contract was over, I was renewed and the variable rate kicked in. I noticed my bill creeping up and had to be put on a payment plan with the gas company because my bill was unmanageable. The gas company estimated what my 1/9 plan would be based on their rate and what my average usage is. The last of the 9 payments was due this month and I received a bill for $1009. We have been with them for both electricity and gas. They sent us constant letters about missed payments that we had not in fact missed. Several of those letters arrived past the payment due date. The latest one arrived on May 11 for a payment due April 28. They dropped us for missed payments. To be clear, we have not been missing these payments. Good riddance.

My boyfriend was approached by his LANDLORDS twice trying to sell this B.S. service. When he politely said no thank you they approached him again a week later. This is wildly inappropriate and these people are far too aggressive.

I signed up for Xoom energy service in NY. at the time I was told it would be in the same range as the local utility so I was willing to help my friend who signed me up. After 12 months I used the tool on the Con Edison website and I saved over $50 over a 12 month period and an additional $1.20 a month billing fee which would have been charged for buying the supply from the local utility. This company will take advantage of you. After your contract is up they switch you to a "variable rate" which is actually almost double the current rate of other energy suppliers. I would reccomend to avoid them at all cost. Even the new contract price is higher than that of energy company them self.

DO NOT enroll in this scam company!!! They charge you for energy as well as your local energy supplier. So you're essentially being charged twice for the same energy. Plus when you try to cancel it can take up to 3 cycles before they actually cancel services which means you will be double charged until they cancel services. Do your self a favor and do not engage this company unless you have money to burn.
