worst company ever. I signed a contract to have me gas and electric lowered, the first month i get the bill after i signed and my bill has almost doubled. They lie to you through the contracts and then when you go to cancel they charge you a cancelation fee. So not only are they screwing you out of more money for gas and electric but then they charge you more to cancel it. So within a month i paid double. I cancelled my XOOM third party services today. The fees associated with a third party were astronomical. I received my gas bill today and the gas charges were $119.00 and the XOOM supply charges were $154.00 for a grand total of $273.00. As I was analyzing my gas charges, I notice that the supply charges was more than the gas used itself. My home is unoccupied during the day and I have been in my home for over 7 years and NEVER paid a gas bill over $180.00. I have been a Xoom energy customer for the past 4 years on a fixed rate plan. If you understand how the service works you can definitely see the benefit of being a long term customer.
Promised that electric/gas bill should be lower than ****, where as they are charging more then **** in every single bill with in contract period. I would not recommend to anybody to use their false promises.
My apartment went under water during Harvey. I waited to call and shut off power because at the time the apartment was saying we might be able to move back in. After a few weeks and a visit to our old home it was clear we sadly were going to have to start over somewhere else. I was talked into using Xoom energy a little over a year ago - by an acquaintance who was offered free energy for some time period if he signed up 10 people - I didn't see a difference between them and *** so I did it for about a year, there was no difference between my earlier bills and the new ones, except Xoom appeared and charged me for 'supply charges' anyway, fast-forward a year or so unbeknownst to me, I was under a contract that needed to be RENEWED I don't wake up every day and read all my mail from utility companie... read more

This is an awesome company! There is a reason why they are A+ rated with the Better Bisiness Bureau. When I see these negative reviews I can't help but think they are people who did not understand that they need to somewhat manage their energy accounts. I get an email about a month or so before my term is up and I simply click through the link and in about 2 minutes I am signed up for another term of my choosing. Xoom claimed to provide the cheapest energy, which it might. But what it does not mention in its advertising is that it utilizes a third party to distribute the electricity, thereby doubling the cost to its customers. i live in a duplex and my neighbor who, mind you, lives in the same house, pays a fifth of what I pay. And in order to get out of the contract I have to pay over $200.
