This is honestly the most consistently awful bank I have ever encountered. They have held CASH deposits and refused to allow me to access my CASH funds due to a mistake on THEIR part. I have opened multiple accounts and EVERY time there was an issue that was due to an employee error. I even went so far as to purposefully have an employee check and double check BEFORE I left because I am so tired of having to go back to this god forsaken bank to fix another error on the part of the bank. Been with Woodforest for 3 years now and even opened a business account. 1st they are untrained and unprofessional. When I opened my business account I learned that it's a second chance account as if I messed up an account before. When I asked about this, I was told that is how it is just labeled. I was told that they couldn't deposit a cashier's check into my account because they couldn't verify the funds. How stupid is that, a cashier's check is just like a money order. Do not bank here. i deposited a check from canada and i am still waiting after 5 weeks, they sent to wells forgo to clear they said it will not clear till the 26 of jan. 2022. Wood forest is to lazy to pick up the phone to verify. i have deposited checks from canada before with no problem. If you wish to speak to someone in there main office good luck there seems to be no one in charge anywhere or they wish to keep there office a secret. I spend over 50 min on the phone no luck and kept getting hung up on.

This is the absolute worse bank ever. I had fraud on my account and they refuse to help me. They keep tossing me from one department to the next. They don't even properly train their associates. The manager had to call someone to get help on filling paperwork out. I've had this bank for nine years and I barely use it because I dread even having to talk to them. Don't waste your time. Go to a different bank. A shoe box is better than these ignorant crooks.

I was charged hundreds of dollars in international fees! I was led to believe by my woodforest that it was the site charging me these fees. However, I used my Chime bank account on the same site and was not charged the same fees. So it's woodforest who misled me to believe I had to pay these fees when I could have just used my other account and saved hundreds of dollars! I have been to 4 different Woodforest Banks over the last 3 years. These were in TN, NC, and in FL. These branches have been inside Walmarts. At each time, the area was clean and well-lighted. I have interacted with 7 different employees. Now, 2 of these employees were trainees and had to ask for assistance from someone else. None of the 7 different employees were rude. Most were matter of fact. Some transactions took longer than I preferred, but That is personal preference. I plan to continue to use this bank.
I’m only giving Woodforest 1 star since 0 stars wasn’t a option. On November 22 2021 I had requested a stop payment on a debit I was charged $35.00 to do so, on November 26 2021 they took out $288.70 for that business I called customer service and was told by a supervisor that it wasn’t done correctly so she would do it right and wanted to charge me $35 again and I wouldn’t pay it so she waived it, and today December 2 2021 they let that business go through for $219.37 which then put my account in the negative with 4 overdra... read more
