I bank with woodforrest in Elizabeth City NC. The employees are borderline hateful. I get direct deposit of over $1,000 a month and this is the one thing I least like in my life is dealing with this bank.

worst bank I have ever dealt with in all my years banking! I have been with woodforest for more then 5 years now and customer service has to be the worst caring out of any bank. hours on hold and no help at all. I received 2 wires from someone and their fraud department flags them and assumes that its a scam right away guilty until proven innocent they Disabled me using my online account to view my transactions and view my statements. I’ve been a customer at Woodforest National Bank for years and on July 20th, 2022, six fraudulent transactions happened at the same time taking a total of 3600.00 from my account. I went inside the bank the next day to sign the paperwork to confirm the fraud. I spoke with someone and was told my money would be back in my account by Monday. Didn’t happen. Please beware I have banked with this company for several years and one day out of the blue they closed my account... no notice no explanation nothing so they mailed a check to my previous address that I hadn't stayed at in 3+ years none of my information had been updated even though I had been to the branches several times and my last name changed...but nope none of that was ever updated soooo needless to say I had to jump through fences hurdles and do back flips to get my funds back took well over 90 days. The absolute worst bank ever! They never ever answer the phone, I have a business account with them also and they hold my business insurance checks for 7 days! I’ve just opened an account elsewhere.. I hate this bank, the people that work that know absolutely nothing and there is never a manager in sight!

I have been with Woodforest for 15+ years. No issues until 6/30/22. I had an issue with paypal fraudulently debiting my account, Paypal wouldnt help. I went to my local branch, Kernersville, NC to report the transactions as fraud. The teller assured me that the transaction was disputed as fraud, and no more paypal transactions could go through. Terrible bank! I get a an $32 overdraft fee for $4.23 worth of ink monthly . I put in the money a day before so it can clear and they still charge me $32 overdraft fee. Unable to get gas but still charge me overdraft fees whenever they feel DONT GET THIS BANK

Horrible must be the worse banking institute in history. Switched banks to them to fit my needs locations etc. Everything they advertised was false. I came into branch deposited a check. They called verified the check was good. The check was deposited then the teller decided to put a hold on the funds for 7 days. Yet another customer same situation they called handed money over hmm. Then called corporate they were useless they said they dont handle that only the branch mgrs handle. District manager was supposed to call me ba... read more

I have been a custome for over 5 years and have been using mobile deposit for several years. I notice today that my mobile deposit had been rejected which cost me 64 dollars in overdraft fees. The photo was perfect, flat, clearly visible. I called they said image quality. They gave me option to resubmit but would not give me the 64 in overdraft charges back. Keep in mind i have deposited the same amount on same day weekly for several years!
