Vanguard is horrible. My husband requested hardship funds on August 26th and we got the run around until September 29th. We called several times in between and they kept requesting more documents and we kept sending them. Then they said the request was being processed. Finally, on Sept. 29 they told us it was too late to process and we would have to submit paperwork all over again. Horrible runaround with this company, my father passed away and as administrator of his estate, I called 4 times to close out any accounts, all four times I was not helped and no one called back as promised. This has been going on since May. They are terrible.
The most atrocious customer service I have ever experienced. Left hand does not talk to the right hand, thus wasting several HOURS trying to speak with customer service, getting transferred, CUT OFF, given handfuls of different phone numbers and still not able to get the information I requested. Absolutely INSANE that they are an investment company. I can't wait to do business with them NEVER AGAIN.
I've been a Vanguard investor since the early 90's. They used to have superb customer service. The changes they've made to customer service is aweful. I just called to ask a question about a conversion of an ***. I could barely understand the representative who answered. Then she put me on hold to talk to investments (I told her I usually have to talk with Education). This company is a joke. Ive been trying to get someone from there to send me an *** adoption form for 26 days. They assigned my case to a a **** ******** and we were told on June 16 we would get a call back within 4 days. 6 more calls later and still nothing. Mrs. ******** lack of concern and effort only prove that they have zero concern for their clients.
absolutely awful. called in and they couldn't find my account even after giving the account # twice. can't cancel auto payments. can't see incoming auto payments. complete incompetence.
If I could leave zero stars, I would. But unfortunately that is not an option. I have been dealing with vanguard customer service for over 3 months now for two simple tasks: 1, to change the name on my account after marriage and 2, to rollover my investments into my new retirement fund due to a job change. Avoid this company like the plague! Its unlikely the Taliban tortures people the way their customer service does. They do not have an email address or physical locations. They request physical mail and fax in the year of our Lord 2025 only to NEVER PROCESS THE DOCUMENTS. They make every interaction extremely difficult for no reason and their employees are clearly very poorly trained. I wouldnt put my money with Vanguard if it was the only brokerage company in the world. Save yourself and switch to Fidelity.
First, I was a personal investor for over 20 years and was happy with Vanguard. Then, the customer service changed and was so bad we withdrew every *****. As an example, for a jointly-titled account with my spouse, telephone representatives, including supervisors, repeatedly asked for my spouse's authorization/permission to speak with me regarding the account.
